Discovery is the worst Star Trek so far. All of the over-the-top wannebe political correctness that governs our current day society has been stuck in just this one series. A woman in the lead role - fine with me. But why to give her a male name? So that we show that its fine to not be a woman or a man? And of course a gay relationship has to be part of the main story line. And a refuge that is fighting for his oppressed people. And a disturbed brother-sister relation. And augmentations to the body for - well, whatever reason. And body-shaming. And the challenges of not accepting your own body. And a relationship of a white woman with a alien husband, she went to live with him to his place, with a mixed DNA child not being accepted by society and then adopting another kid with....... oh my God, please, is it really all necessary to be stuck into the series in such an over the top way?? Season 2 at least does not have a lot of those fake Klingons anymore. That was the worst of all, even being untrue to the original Star Trek Klingons. I'm still watching the series, but I hope it will stop trying to be so extremely endless wannebe politically correct. At times its nauseating.
Not sure what I think about this. First 4 episodes were great. Episode 5 it suddenly was a mess and there was only one person stealing the show (and not John and Jane, obviously) and all chemistry was gone.
Episode 6 and 7 it was asif I was watching an episode in As The World Turns or something. Did suddenly get a different showrunner on board or something? Disappointing crap.
The final episode seemed a bit as if part of it had a movie re-enactment. Not as-good as the movie and lacking that superb acting and stunning chemistry between Pitt and Jolie obviously - but... not so badly done.
Then everything just got messy, easy, predictable. Too obvious. Disappointing and lack of originality. I could have written the script. And no thats not a good thing.
I was really looking forward to the next big Claire Danes project.
After the first few minutes of episode 1 I am already hugely disappointed. Wtf at the shaky cam footage? They are so obviously making it on purpose extra shaking that it almost makes me feel sick to the stomach - or at the very least annoyed.
Very much doubt I will continu watching this, if theres anymore of that shaky cam sequences.
MODERATION EDIT: Don't be disrespectful.
I really wonder what the whole plan was with this season. It looks like they had some specific story in mind, recorded everything. Probably some scenes were not done yet during the whole writers and actors strikes
And then in post-editing someone totally re-wrote the story.
There are loads of flashbacks or supporting scenes that seem to be more about native americans and their roots and customs as a sort of documentary, which in some ways is better developed than the main story itself.
Frankly I dont like the Maya character. I dont like several of the other characters either. And a lot of what we see just doesnt make sense.
You dont go driving hundred of kilometers/miles with a bullet still stuck in your chest.
Maya her endless frowning / angry face gets old quickly. I found myself fast-forwarding most of episode 2. Then I was wondering why I was even bothering with this.
Kind of to my surprise i really enjoyed this. I binged season 1 completely. Ok, its a bit predictable and its nothing really original, but overal it's quite well done. It takes on both racial inequality AND the woke cancel culture bullshit both at once. Great job. Quite refreshing to call out the woke over the top angry screamers, who dont really care about being right, but just screaming the most loud to become right.
Hilary Swank is really carrying this series though. Without her there would be not much there in al fairness. Most of the story line per episode seems to be written by some students doing their first scripts and are having trouble to come up with something totally fresh and new. The underlying storyline over the whole season 1 is decent enough though.
Very strange opening episode. It looks quite interesting.
And absolutely kudos for the music.
Interesting what direction this will be going.
too bad it got cancelled :( it started of so good...
the screwing about with each others cars is starting to be annoying. in this case it more or less destroyed the DB9.
sometimes it's funny, but more often than not its just juvenile.
anyway. one more episode to go after this I guess.
too bad, I'll miss the specials.
This is basically a better version of the True Lies (utter bullshit) series. Too bad it's not as a series, but a movie.
It does underperform in many aspects unfortunately.
First hour of the movie was quite enjoyable, then it got a bit too much like 'its time to wrap-up the storylines'. That was too bad. Would have worked much better as a limited series. Or maybe another season of The Flight Attended.
what a total b.s.
if a person gets desperate, like that b.s. scene, you will end up giving every tiny little bit of detail of what you do know and not just scream again and again "shes dead".
plus totally b.s that a professional like specialist/psycho would just go into the house without canvassing.
and........ the guy in his tracksuit just standing in the middle of the road, without moving, and psycho/specialist keeps missing like that, even with 2 guns? yeah right.
and she can reload a gun but he cant? yeah right.....
aside the woke b.s. the series was more or less intelligent up to this point, these set of scenes destroyed it all.
and a shootout in the middle of nowhere - suddenly the briliant piece of conversation "the police is near we need to go". huh? what? how do you know this? theres no police sirens or anything.
and yeah sure, suddenly David has a few tie-wraps in his back pocket to tie that person hands together. yeah I also always walk around with large tie-wraps :)
and add to all of that they get on a train with a bullet wound and the conclusion is "fcker got me, I didnt even feel it".
seriously what 15 y/o scenarist wrote this episode? or was it written during the writers strike by a random? lol.
Season 3 is a few steps down in quality from the previous seasons. ITs not bad, but just not as superb as before.
I dont understand all the hate towards this movie, it was fun. Yes its quite a lot of b.s. but in a fun way. Loved the many references to other movies/series and even to real persons here and there and at least 2 cameos. Ed Sheeran with his "I was in game of thrones", Reynolds in his India Jones outfit whistling the tune and referring MacGuffin, nazi crate with the super secret text on it, etc etc. Sure, very predictable here and there, but all in all I really enjoyed it for what it was: an action comedy.
I absolutely loved the movie. The plot holes were almost negligable and as a whole it seemed to be.... realistic! This movie is Cast Away meets Gravity meets McGuyver.
this is one of the most overrated movies I have ever seen. It's boring as h*ll. Even the sex is boring... tedious, too much talking about nothing (and the dialogues aren't all that super either), predictable, drugs and sex to be an end isntead of a means for the story to be told (and as I said, even the sex is boring). Even DiCaprio could not save this incredibly crap movie.
How can there be 7 votes giving it 36% now in 2016, when the movie is due in 2017???
I loved the first episodes of season 1... but season 2 really got to a high level of WTF...
[strike]She was great on Hawkeye next to JRenner. She's no longer that kid from then but a woman 3 years down the line and no Renner... very much wondering how this series will end up to be.[/strike] Here's hoping it wont be another endless woke virus promotion.
EDIT1: I expected this series to be about Hawkeyes sidekick Kate. But its about the bad lieutenant Maya. My mistake.
Quite disappointing.
EDIT:2 So after having seen the first 2 episodes of season 1 (I doubt there will be a season 2), it's not as messed up woke as I was worried for it to become.
But..... maybe that would even have been better than this crap. The whole series just stinks.
I really wonder what the whole plan was with this season. It looks like they had some specific story in mind, recorded everything. Probably some scenes were not done yet during the whole writers and actors strikes

There are loads of flashbacks or supporting scenes that seem to be about native americans and their roots and customs as a sort of documentary, which in some ways is better developed than the main story itself.
Frankly I dont like the Maya character. Maya her endless frowning / angry face gets old quickly. She has only 1 possible expression on her face: angry. There is hardly anything else coming out of her.
I guess acting of being a deaf person who is angry about life is probably difficult to do antything else than this, but her whole attitude gets old fast. No matter who she has near her or whom she communicates with. Endless negativity and anger and violence.
I dont like several of the other characters either. Plus I find the way most of the native americans are being protraid borderline racist. All of them seem to be either stupid, over-weight(fat), or criminal or so stuck in the traditional ways that they are just plain silly.
And a lot of what we see just doesnt make sense.
You dont go driving a motorcycle hundred of kilometers/miles with a bullet still stuck in your chest.
I am considering rating this series on the same level as Iron Fist. Not sure if to be above or below. I guess below is impossible. So let's say its halve a step better than Iron First. Although the storyline of Iron Fist at least made sense (mostly). Hm.
Anyway. It's poo. Dont bother. There's much better stuff out there than this s h i t.
This series season 1 is absolutely superb. The humor is sarcastic to the max in a way that it's almost a comedy. But never getting there. It's extremely well done. It's lovely unrealistic, never gets too serious and yet manages to captivate you into binge watching the whole thing.
Can't wait for season 2.
The movie is not bad, but Kevin Hart is just terribly annoying. And why does he have to emphasize race? "Why are you asking a black man to steal a police car". What does that have to do with it? Later in the movie "I am boiling that white woman". Why is race at all important?! Stop referencing if its not important. Not everything is about race.
Kevin Hart seems to permanently play the exact same character who just does not stop talking and tries to be funny by just talking too much. Which it is not. Too bad. It is the same as Melissa McCarthy who also can only play 1 single character and is also absolutely never funny with her one-liners.
Could have otherwise been a fun movie if it had a different actor in it.
Woody Harrelson did kill it and is the only thing saving this movie.
Kaley Cucuo her role is so tiny that its hardly worth mentioning.
Story itself is kind dumb and 13 in a dozen. Or perhaps 15 in a dozen. You see the plot "twists" coming 5 miles away.
Anyway. I could smile a few times and it was fine having this movie play while I was reviewing some document for work.
Cool reference to the ancient sailors here there be dragons-remark. Funny to see it in a sci-fi series
Where previous movies were either comedy, or just simply cool, this one tries to be serious and all that - it simply takes itself too serious. What the f was up with that execution? And how can everyone just forget Deckard Shaw killed that asian guy in cold blood before? Sorry but its all too much bullcrap for me. And of course the story is bs, action is impossible and over the top and and and... but where this was "fun" in previous movies, I just got more and more annoyed. They should have stopped at F&F 5. That was enough.
What a total let-down. Stupid dialogues, stupid characters and sure if everyone gets shot to hell around you, keep on laughing......... right? C'mon.
Nowhere near as good as the original Statham movies. Heck, even the series was better (and that series was b.a.d.).
This is one of the most overrated movies I have ever seen
basically it's about some guy who is an inspirator and uses his good talk to make shitloads of money and then loses it all because of a huge amount of drugs abuse.
the movie is tideous, slow, predictable, and just not all that good.
Di Caprio his action is great, but that's about all there is to it.
extremely overrated.
I continued to watch it, but that was only coz my girlfriend had fallen asleep with her head on my lap and I didnt wanne wake her up
wtf was this episode? those scenes with hellfire raining down, followed by the zombie mode endless bullet rain....... seriously what a bs. then the chasing through corridors,. where the good guys can close doors to slow down the bad guys. but the bad guys were not able to close those door to slow down the good guys?? right.
That Ezra Miller is an annoying actor. What worse than having one? Exactly: 2 of them.
This movie had a fun amount of cameo, but that's about all there's good about this movie.
How is it possible that this movie scored so high on here? Jokes are miles off, not even worth a chuckle. It's just plain stupid.
"Charming", describes this whole movie in just 1 word. Great roles by DeNiro and Anne Hathaway.
I totally agree with Draackje.
this movie really missed the chemistry between Chris and Evelyn, that was still there between Rachel Weisz and Brendan Fraser in the first two.
it all felt as if the actors were doing it because they had to, not because they wanted to, not because they actually enjoyed making this movie.
too bad.. all ingredients were there, but the mix didnt add up to a nice bowl of soup.
I very much enjoyed this movie. Sure, from the cast and director you can maybe hope to be able to expect more, but I thought it was good fun.
the movie isn't that bad actually... kinda enjoyable :) simple action packed movie with cute girls enjoying their crazy lives.
