1922 2017

This first act of this movie is a great example of building a realistic feeling of dread and unease. Sadly it is hindered by the movie's slow pace and predictable story in the latter acts.

Thomas Jane proves romance isn't dead in this heart warming tale of family life on a thriving farm in 1922

A quiet place 2 but in the 1922, not good not bad it only knows what it is not

not the worst but i'm of the opinion that most of king's novellas would do better in an anthology series at about half the length of this movie.

A simple story, without tension and without a mystery aspect. Some parts that last for a few months in movie, are shown in 1-2 minutes and in a few frames. The first third of the film I really liked, and then it goes more and more down the cliff. The great atmosphere, paranoia aspect and the way in which the film was shot are not, at least for me, enough for any movie to be great...or even good. 5/10.

Really great atmosphere and quite creepy. The practical effects are good, CG not so much.

Written and directed by Zak Hilditch. From an atmosphere charged with tragedy and pain, 1922 is a typical nightmare draw from the mind of Stephen king. Highly recommend.

Good film and story from King but hard of hearing at times from Thomas characters accent his character had but he did a good leading role.

Phenomenal adaptation to one of Stephen King's more disturbing novellas! Thomas Jane is an excellent Wilf! This is definitely a keeper and also another reason why Netflix originals are leading the pack.

1922 is an interesting and well-made Stephen King film that offers a haunting story of murder and its supernatural consequences. While the movie is well-executed, it falls short of some of the best adaptations of King's work. The pacing can be slow at times, and some may find the film's horror elements to be relatively mild. However, it's still a must-see for fans of the horror genre and for those interested in King's work. Overall, while 1922 may not be the best King movie, it's still a solid entry.

Stephen King is a God in horror stories.

Guys, this happened to my family.

I thought the movie was okay for a horror film. I didn’t really like how the narrator was telling the story as he confessed on paper. I wished it was told from the moment it actually happened not how the narrator visioned it after the fact. It however did get me on edge especially since it is a Stephen King movie.

Wow he mind of Stephen King is amazing especially with this movie, certainly a great watch and Thomas Jane is one amazing Actor....love most of his movies especially The Mist and Dreamcatcher from the great mind of Stephen King again....

Both 1922 and Gerald's Game are the best Stephen King, character study adaptations. Since the Green Mile. They are both dark dramas that make you question reality.
Of what is just Wilfred James' (Thomas Jane) guilt coming back to haunt him or actual ghosts. As well as the burden of being a single parent taking care of a son and a farm by yourself.
1922 is more of a character study than a ghost story. Thomas Jane (Dreamcatcher, The Mist) makes you feel for him with one of his most moving performances. Even if you know, you should probably hate him. Or be grateful bad things are happening to him.

There are 1'922 rats in this. At least.

I'm not fully hooked by this movie. The story sounds interesting but it's amazingly hard to follow. Too many things happen and the accent used is just too hard to understand to make it a movie you like to watch. Acting was fine, but that's about it…

Enjoyed this. Had no idea, until the end that it was an adaptation of a Stephen King book. Do agree with others here that the accent from Thomas Jane was very hard to understand at times. Did spoil my enjoyment a little but nonetheless a very good film.

Faithful to the original King story, which is sad because it isn't his most exciting.

I read the novella earlier this year, so was excited when I learnt of the film adaptation. Follows the story pretty closely, with a pervading atmosphere of doom that builds from the beginning. You may need to watch with subtitles, however, as the thick accent from Thomas Jane's character is sometimes difficult to understand. Recommended, and another decent Stephen King movie courtesy of Netflix.

Pretty basic plot for a murder story but it was filmed and told in a good way. Music, filming, overall vibe of the movie made you feel very uneasy at times which is well done.
Not Stephen King's best work but still, a good watch.
