Bloody hell, that hurts!
I watched only 54 minutes and it hurt my eyes and my brain. All you see is explosions whishing through your screen and Deadpool commenting on stuff that is happening, that you don't even understand because your brain is so fully stimulated with explosions. Watch something else, you'll be better off!
The plot (as far as I could tell) is something about people who are ghosts, somehow believed dead, but instead are actually recruited by Deadpool, who is rich. Then they kill people. Or rob banks. Or do highspeed car chases through narrow Italian cities. Not quite sure.
Then they dress up and kill some corrupt mob guy in a fancy Dubai hotel. Then I stopped watching.
I do NOT, under no circumstances, recommend anyone to watch that movie! Not even if you liked Transformers, which I liked very, very much. Normally, a Transformers-movie is a movie which one can watch without thinking. Just watch some explosions and big robots beating each other and no one has to think about plot or relations or anything else, because the only elements there are, are violence and explosions. And that works there, but somehow not when Deadpool plays the lead. And in my opinion, Ryan Reynolds is, just like Kristen Stewart, unable to play anything else than one role.
What a terrible shame.

There are some truly shocking and brilliant moments of excitement and violence.
Some of the dialogue is really funny, particularly when delivered by Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds is clearly enjoying himself and puts some of Deadpool in his performance. He easily steals the show. Ben Hardy is also great, particularly in his awesome parkour sequence.
Michael Bay is a visual director and that can clearly be seen from the beauty of the landscape shots, explosions and action scenes. He doesn't really care about the rest.
At best the film presents some funny banter between the characters and some awesome and well executed operations. The operation to save the brother is really good and entertaining.
It's all there - massive explosions, spectacular car chases and overlong action sequences. It has Michael Bay written all over it. Most action scenes are spectacular but make no sense and serve no real purpose other than to look good.
Most of the blood and gore is gross without any good reason and just feels over the top.
The characters have one defining characteristic that their entire existence is built on. The actors have very little room to actually make them interesting.
Dave Franco still feels stiff and unnatural like always and just doesn't fit in an action film.
:frowning2:
Action scenes have been chopped into pulp. The editing makes for confusing and broken action scenes that are all over the place, but never where they should be.
The simple and unoriginal story is made tough to follow as the fast-paced editing continues to dominate the parts that are supposed to give the viewer some exposition. The film hardly slows down, but keeps its fast pace all the time. It gets tiresome very fast.
The script tries to stuff too many missions into one movie, so it's hard to keep track of what is going on.
Some of the acting is very stiff and distracting, as it sticks out from the okay and good acting.
The script jumps back and forth between different points in time, which is intended to give us specific pieces of information at specific times, but actually just makes the main plot more dragged out and confusing to follow.
6 Underground is one of those movies you just stop caring about and leave on in the background as you do other stuff.
There's no depth to the story or the characters, no real reason to like or dislike any of them.
The film could have easily been cut short and nothing would have been lost from the story.
:face_vomiting:
It seems like all focus has been put on the overblown action scenes so everything between feels bland and pale in comparison. There's no juice in those scenes and the film totally loses its footing.
It takes 40 minutes for the film to present its backstory and after that you still don't know the charcters, you still don't know what's going on and you have stopped caring.
How did they manage to make such a simple concept to overly complicated and uninteresting?
The Final Face: :frowning2: // Bad
Michael Bay ruins what could have been a seriously fun movie. The actors are great, the action is fun, the premise is good enough. But after finishing it I know it's going to flop so much the second time around because of how scattershot it is. Such as introducing the films premise at LEAST 3 times. Spending WAY too long on backstories. Classic action scenes with no weight. The opening car chase is wonderful. It's a great way to jump into the action. It actually does a lot of things right. It effectively introduces us to the characters and a lot of their dynamic but it's just.. poorly directed. You have no sense of where anyone is going or why. When you get get a sense you lose it because of inconsistent editing. It's all the worst parts of Bay. Just slow it down a touch, ground it a little more, and plot out the city better so we can feel tension properly and it would have been perfect. Not that it matters you could literally cut that scene out start the movie right after that scene and it would affect nothing. They reintroduce the characters AGAIN, the plot of everyone being dead AGAIN, the new mission AGAIN. It's a shame Bay lost his good people who reined him in and at least gave him some blinders so it could literally throw everything in.
This could have been a great wink/nudge style "parody"/homage to all the A-Team style "we're dead mercenaries working towards our own goals/money" movies. The Old Guard would succeed where this fails but that's a different niche. That's not a parody or an homage. It's a recreation done pretty sincerely. Instead while I enjoyed 6 Underground I kinda feel like I'd rather rewatch The Losers than rewatch this.

I watched this movie and liked it. Not loved it. The explosions. The cheesy lines. The allure of having at least 6 people somewhere trying to make a difference in a world that is otherwise a total disaster in some parts while in the other parts it's just a rat race. So yes, I liked a movie, where people woke up one day and said, you know what? I'll do something about this. Reynolds actually alludes to this when he says something along the lines of; little actions can have a big impact.
Now after I watched this movie, I did what any other traditional person does. Hopped on the internet to see what the world thought of it and to check if a second installment was already on the way, because I want more. Imagine my surprise when I found a few articles from mainstream media, denouncing it for garbage. Even worse, I found a few comments here that describe the movie as garbage.
I won't disagree, but when did we start to expect EVERY movie to be a cultural masterpiece?? This movie isn't here to teach you about the world. It isn't here to inspire you. It's here for some fun. If you're looking for a movie to watch with your mates while your all just eating pizza and drinking beer, well this is it.
If you're looking for a movie to watch with the wife and kids, this probably isn't it. Depending on how comfortable you are with watching women in lingerie, while the scenes are depicting all the signs of people having fun, and sharing all of that with your kids. Oh did I mention that there is a lot of blood? no? my bad. So this definitely isn't one for the family to sit down and watch together.
But it is a fun movie if all that you need is, explosions, beautiful people half naked for a few scenes, parkour and tremendous car crashes. Have fun and for crying out loud, don't decide to skip the movie just because a few ... decided to wake up and call it a horrible movie. Make up your own mind and enjoy watching Reynolds drop a few deadpool-esque lines.
