This movie was very dissapointing even though I wasn't expecting that much. I mostl watched it because of Wesley Snipes but he wasn't very good and wasn't even the lead actor (at best co-lead). I fear that Snipes might be runing his image by taking such crappy roles with such poor directors... and that is really where I think this film failed the most, the directing.
The script is based on some ideas that are kind of interesting even if not fleshed out in a satisfying way but the pacing, shot choices, casting and overall structure is very poor. I guess that the director was tryng to build tension early on with so much time spent on watching people exploring corridors but that tension would have need to be founded on something that would lead a viewer to feel for the characters during that time. As it is, it's just boring, by the time I was actually contemplatng turnng it off I could see it was about to switch gears so I stuck with it. The story did start to reveal itself but it was quite repetitive and we are supposed to be engrossed by people repeatedly finding shocking things even though there isnt enough inormation to really form much of a story.
Apart frm Snipes the rest of the cast was a mix of ok down to "what the". How is petite little Anne Heche to be believed alongside the rest of the cast, as some kind of crack combat specialist? The best performance was the cameo by Gene Simmons at the start of the film, after that I really just didn't care.
I really hope Wesley Snipes can find a decent role to resurect his career. I don't think the viewing public really cares about his past legal problems and many would be enticed to see a big film with his name on the poster.
Nice movie. Got me thinking.
Plot: Seems like AI gone rouge or maybe not?
Nonsense movie, total bullshit and waste of time..

Woeful.
'Armed Response' is, simply, a total mess. The entire plot makes little to no sense, while the casting, cinematography and dialogue are just as bad. Some of the effects are OK-ish and there are two decent deaths. Otherwise, it all makes for an insufferable 93 minutes.
They attempt to mesh horror and thriller vibes but it just doesn't work, I didn't feel thrilled once and the horror is set up so poorly; despite a couple of alright ideas for the latter. Wesley Snipes is the all-star name attached to this, yet is bemusingly put into a back-up role behind Dave Annable. Why would you not utilise Snipes as your lead?
WWE Studios have done far better. It only avoids the lowest rating from me due to there, somehow, being worse films out there.
