Watching Ash is the Purest White is like being stuck on a cross country train ride. The views are often magnificent, but there's too much not enough, no matter how well it's presented.
This movie says much than words could ever, with a story as simple as it comes, but with a gut punch feeling on how the structure of the movie developed the core meaning of relationships and friendships that are entangled together. Even though time past by, and changes, but those who share such stories and connections stay the same.
A really interesting portrayal of someone that seems to love someone else unconditionally. In a weird kind of way it reminded me of the end of the movie Tin Cup. I can picture the female leading reaching her hand back and saying "ball!" as she waits for another golf ball to be put in her hand. All kidding aside, I think there are several ways to look at the main character. For the most part I admire her determination. It would be something to truly love someone like that. That said, we could tell by the expressions on her face in the last few scenes that she had no delusions about what she was doing. Still, it didn't make the end any less poignant.
