Dominic Purcell leads the cast in Uwe Boll’s timely political drama Assault on Wall Street. A blue collar security guard is pushed over the edge when an economic collapse destroys his life. The film does a fairly good job at character development; however it does get a little overdramatic at times. The pacing is also a bit of a problem, as it takes too long to get to the climatic shootout. Yet despite it weaknesses, Assault on Wall Street is an intriguing and provocative film.
One of the most amoral movies i have ever seen! I have no words, it is like in the future if they would make a movie about Breivik killing huge amount of people and then like he was a hero because he was on revenge.
I'm really disgusted at the end of the movie.
A very violent action thriller with Dominic Purcell - I thoroughly enjoyed it!
The violence will likely put a load of people off, it isn't a feel-good story and it isn't exactly criticising murder. I, personally, don't think it's necessarily a film's job to teach right and wrong - otherwise every film would be the same.
'Assault on Wall Street' pulls no punches, as they thoroughly commit to making Jim an extremist. They do a solid job at making you care for him initially and to understand his ideology, obviously not to the point where you believe he is a hero or anything.
It does stagnate a little when building up Purcell's character, but when the gritty action arrives it turns into a bloody mess which is entertaining to watch. Purcell himself is very good, both physically and emotionally.
Elsewhere, Erin Karpluk (Rosie) plays her part well whilst there are roles for recognisable trio John Heard (Jeremy), Keith David (Freddy) and Eric Roberts (Louis). Heard and Roberts are very underused, though.
Not the greatest film, it has issues like the poor camera work, editing and dialogue, but if you want a film with heavy, firefight scenes then it's certainly worth viewing. It doesn't really water anything down.
A good Uwe Boll movie. A must see!
Slow build up but it ended up working really well and definitely paid off at the end! Really enjoyed this.
