Salma Hayek doesn't even need to speak when conveying how her character feels in this film. Her eyes say it all, and the film is all the more powerful because of her quiet expression. An intriguing study of people poles apart, and I'm guessing how you view this film depends on what side of the coin you're on. I'm with Beatriz.
Great casting and great performances. A very squirmy exposition of totally polar views of life with no bridges between them. The viewpoints are very clearly written and performed but there is no arc in either points of view. Then, it is capped off by a choice of endings neither of which present an actionable answer to the ideological stalemate. I give this film a 6 (squirmy exposition) out of 10. [Dark dramatic satire]
Slightly underwritten despite not clocking at regular movie length... too bad.
Another great performance by Salma Hayek, pretty disappointed with the ending.
