Blood Work 2002

Good entertainment.

I like the plot of 'Blood Work'. I'm unsure if it would hold up if you went through with a fine-tooth comb, but it certainly gave me the required enjoyment levels. Clint Eastwood gives a sturdy performance, as do Jeff Daniels and Wanda De Jesus; elsewhere on the cast, neat to see Anjelica Huston and Rick Hoffman, Louis Litt himself, appear in smaller roles.

It's not as unpredictable as it perhaps thinks it is, due to the casting more than anything, but I had a fun enough time with it.

Terrible. Watching Clint run and keep pace with a criminal at the start was the indication what the film was going to be. Film is 30 minutes too long, with far too much time spent with Anjelica Huston. Very predictable twist and the film falls apart from there.

[La Sexta] One of the films in which Clint Eastwood explores the figure of the anti-hero, a more realistic version of his characters, here a kind of Dirty Harry retired and convalescing after a heart transplant that connects him with a personal investigation. It is more interesting for this portrayal of the character than for the case itself, which Brian Helgeland's script develops with little credibility, especially regarding the character of Jeff Daniels.

"If you can't protect the integrity of the system, then there is no system."

I always feel bad watching "tough" action stars get old and still trying to play tough guys. It's even harder in this one because he has a heart transplant at the beginning of the story. Predictable twist but it's an alright movie.
