Wonderful, emotional Movie. Good actors.
The End is hard to see. I hoped for a Happy End…
But it’s a difficult topic in USA. Unbelievable what happens there….

Considering it was written, directed and starred in by Chon it's a very impressive accomplishment. It's a well told story, but not without some lapses in pace. Vikander strengthens it and young Jessie was a standout. Disliked the dirty cop angle.

This is a hard-hitting drama that does little to ever be comic relief. It is not going to be enjoyable to everyone, but that is the point. The story is deep, the production is nice, and it is stressful. There is a reason this is loved in some circles, and there is a reason some don't like it. I am amongst those that appreciate this movie.

There are several powerful moments in this challenging drama and the ending is particularly impactful. The lackadaisical pace lets it down a little as my interest started to wane at the midway point. The acting and the true-life nature of the plot did much to draw me back in, however.

Like a football game, Blue Bayou moves ahead in starts and spurts despite some missteps. It eventually scores some points but fumbles the ending. The acting was on point, though, even the young Sydney Kowalske.
