Breach 2007

This is a slow, but good spy thriller. Ryan Phillippe did well but Chris Cooper's performance is a standout here. The fact that this is a true story and he is based off of a real person made it really interesting to me. If you like spy thrillers based on true stories, check this out.

That final shot of Cooper in the elevator is haunting.

Breach is a compelling film based on a true story. The film's strength lies in its attention to detail and its ability to create an atmosphere that is both tense and engaging. The performances by Chris Cooper and Ryan Phillippe are exceptional, adding to the film's realism and authenticity. A powerful film that sheds light on the intricacies of espionage and the inner workings of the FBI.

In the end I needed to remind myself, that this movie is based on true events because the scope of "bringing down the worst spy in the history of the United States of America" was only adressed in two or three explanatory lines throughout - for a subject matter like this, the movie lacked impact.
