Ti West is a well-known name in the world of horror filmmaking these days. But that's certainly not because of "Cabin Fever 2". After all, he later distanced himself from the finished product. In almost every way, the film is worse than its predecessor. There is hardly any horror in it. In the first installment, that was at least partly the case. Now the focus is clearly on the comedy side. And that rarely works due to the consistent lack of taste. The only saving grace for the film are the gore, which is still effective, and the creative opening credit sequence. "Cabin Fever 2" is certainly still watchable for fans of the series, but everyone else should steer clear of the film.
A disappointing downgrade. Couldn't even laugh at this one.
RIDICULOUS. Waste of time. Such a SHIT!
Wow. Just, wow. Most likely one of the worst horror movies ever. The acting is bad, the special effects are horrendous, and the plot is so cheesy it smells of Gouda the whole time the movie was playing. If this is a parody, it is a parody on itself ... a lame one.
A bit more cliche than the original, but still decent. Gory fun good enough to watch in a group!

This is one of the rare times when a sequel is better than the original.
Cabin Fever 2 picks up right where the first left off. We do get a couple of returning characters, but aside from that, this movie is here to tell its own story, while keeping a similar tone to the original.
Don't let the name fool you, there is no titular cabin here, this takes place at a school. I really don't get what is to dislike: If you enjoyed the first movie, this will give you a worthy follow up; If you didn't like it, this one is just different enough to sway some who needed a better film.
While I liked the first Cabin Fever, I think this was better at making characters you either want to survive or wish were dead. Simply put, I cared more about our protagonists. The friendships, the unrequited love, mean girls, douchebags, STDs, a possible nod to Irreversible, comedy that actually works. There is just too much to like here.
If I were to complain about any part, it's that the ending is not as solid as it could be. Is it left open? Yes. That's fine, but I want to know what happened to John and Cassie.
There is a post-credit scene, but it does nothing to answer questions.
I totally recommend this to anyone looking for a fun horror movie, that prioritizes story over gore, but still has plenty of gross moments.
