Class Action Park 2020

This documentary seems to just glorify a man who didn't care at all about the kids in his community. Movie focuses on funny accidents, but sweeps under the rug the amount of people killed at the park and the amount of underage drinking at the park. Seems like they mentioned in passing 6 or 7 people who died but only talked to one family. There was no follow up on the people who were seriously injured. This would be a good topic for a true crime doc. Not sure what they were going for with this movie.

Well done documentary. They used animated segments to show what happened to cut down on visual injuries and/or lack of real video from it. Lots of decent interviews, from visitors, employees, and designers, provide the various takes on the park and it's activities. It does a good job showcasing what the park was supposed to represent. Then it goes into how that idea for the park eventually got out of control and the unfortunate consequences when it did. Very contrasting with how careful society is today compared to the 80's.

I can’t wait to check this out. I have many fond memories of being injured at this park. But those rides were insane & I would totally do it all over again. You walk in to the park & literally you’re rolling the dice.

Well put together documentary on Action Park, which will be old hat to people that already know about the park (there's only so many stories you can have on a place that existed so briefly) but still intersting. I can't wait for this type of film to be made on Hard Rock Theme Park some day!!!

A great documentary but a terrifying one. As fun as the theme park must have been, it is quite shocking how it was allowed to stay open for as long as it did. Tragedies happened and as such, the fun should have stopped. I only knew of the park through the disappointing movie Action Point but this does a much better job of getting inside what it was like to be there. As somebody who thinks twice before going on any theme park ride, this was a park that I probably would have avoided growing up.

A truly American documentary about romanticizing a man and theme park that killed children. It isn’t a great mystery why that country is the mess it is.

All the sad stuff they threw in at the end seemed out of place. It's as if they were forced to add it. You can't have the audience chuckling at the rascally antics of all involved and then make us feel guilty via some dead kid's mom.

Comes across as a comedy but a bloomin brilliant one!

I heard about this documentary through Cinemassacre's podcast and thought I just had to check it out. Them talking about those rides and how dangerous the place was and I'll be damned it was truly a dangerous place but it brought loads of 80s kids fun, tons of fun and bruises.

I enjoyed the way everyone talked about the nostalgic fun but also about they all knew it was a messed up park. Loads of rides are explored with some actual footage, I even enjoyed the cartoon stuff. Some damn wild stuff.

But the way they didn't shy away about the story of one the kids who died there and had his mother and brother talk about it was some good but sad stuff to watch.

If I lived near Jersey and was a bit older during that time I would've been to that place a lot I think. But hey, I was born in 88 and live in the Netherlands and we have Duinrell. Not totally relatable but hey, it has waterslides!

I am 100% not surprised that this was conceived by an ex-stock market sociopath.

I've heard about Action Park before but hearing the stories of the employees and guests, I'm rather amazed that this thing actually got to go on as long as it did.

Class Action Park is actually a quite fun watch, and as an adult...rather horrifying, but as a teenager...I would probably have loved experiencing it myself.

Recommended watch!!!

This is great, if I lived close to there as a kid, I would of been there all the time and along with the scars. The injuries and deaths are sad, but I come from a time when you took the responsibility of your actions and didn’t point the finger at someone else. Even today you can die at a ski resort when you are reckless or even standing still and the resort holds no responsibility.

The documentary is about a theme park in the 80's that didn't have any rules and did not seem to have safe rides. It's a bit like watching 90 minutes of car accident taking place. I spent much of it trying to figure out which rides I would go on and which I would not. While the film is fairly light the last few scenes really put a different light on the park's operators.

Still the best park theme park ever

That was a crazy place!! I would never have gone myself. But watching this did bring back many memories of the '80s and the recklessness that went along with that time period. The craziness behind the rides and the immaturity of the people that worked there just added to the insanity of the park. It is, quite frankly, a miracle that even more people did not die there.
