Classic Arnie! This is one of those quintessential 80's movies, Something that I can't believe that my father let me watch with him as a 5 year old kid. I love the nostalgia.
I'm not sure what it is with Conan the Barbarian.
On one side, I'm back to when I was a kid collecting Conan comics, loving sword and sorcery in general and specifically this movie.
On the other, as an adult, I feel this movie is incredibly stupid, and apart from the excellent sound and visuals, I shouldn't really care for this at all.
Well...I choose to side with my kid self. Conan the Barbarian is one of the best sword and sorcery films ever made. End of story!!!
I read somewhere that Arnold Schwarzenegger is up for a new "Conan".

A classic I guess, but wow. Story is pretty weak and uninteresting, action meh, effects suck or are ridiculous, there is basically no dialogue either. It feels like it was unintentionally already very cheesy at the time ? Not sure.

Everything is terribly bad: the action, story, acting.
Soundtrack is good but feels like it's made for a different movie.

It’s Arnold Schwarzenegger’s seminal role...Conan the Barbarian. Based on Robert E. Howard’s fantasy series, Conan and his band of thieves are hired to free a king’s daughter from the clutches of an evil sorcerer. While Schwarzenegger doesn’t do much “acting” per se, he has a tremendous screen presence that carries the film. Additionally, Basil Poledouris provides a majestic score that does an excellent job at giving the film an epic feel. However, there are some pacing issues that cause the film to drag at times, and the storytelling is a rather weak. Still, Conan the Barbarian is a classic ‘80s action film that delivers a thrilling adventure.

Soo damn good! All around great fantasy flick. It's also aged really nicely. One of the best of Arnold's career. It's too bad we never got the third movie to wash the taste of the second away, and leave a finer legacy.
Still a mad film. It's cheesy, and badly made, but I still enjoy it, and it has a sense of humour to it. ha
