Creep 2 2017

3 Thoughts After Watching ‘Creep 2’:

  1. Like the first one, it’s difficult to tell where the story is gonna go.
  2. I was surprised at how this felt completely different from its predecessor, while successfully continuing the same story. Less creepy, more psychological.
  3. I agree that these are some of the best, more original “found footage” films.

Still very creepy. You now know things, you know how creepy Josef or as he goes by in this film Aaron is but still it keeps you on edge, waiting for what he's up to next. This movie is entirely different from the first but it's not at all bad. Mark Duplass is just great, he brings out the darkness of his character but with a charme and even innocence to it, it's funny at times.

So demented I love it. Funnier and far more iconic than the first. Also, the ending has never seemed to leave my mind since I first watched it.

My review on Criticker: "This started out somewhat slow for me, but grew throughout the whole film. Akhavan and Duplass complimented watch other very well. There was a natural chemistry between the leads that I enjoyed. This was far more playful than the first. I liked the first in a "recommend to indie horror fans" way, but this one has further reach in my opinion. First half 6.3 ish. Second half 8.3! I'm going to go a little higher than the avg of the halves at a 7.5 and round up to an 8 for those 10 pt scale sites."

This was such a great follow up to the first one. It’s very rarely a sequel is just as good as the first one, but this one is literally on the same level.

I totally wasted my time. I even advanced it to see if it would get interesting but no.

The sexual tension between these two were sky-high.

I give it a 7 for you should watch at least once. Watching either the 1st or 2nd in either order doesn't matter. I think watching the 1st beforehand gives the backstory, watching in reverse will make you want to know what the hell could have happened in the 1st. But please don't make a 3rd. Leave it be. Ended beautifully.

Never did I thought that they could make another creep movie more fucked up than the first one! Really enjoyed all the fucked up parts

I quite enjoyed the first "Creep". Creep 2 has a very intriguing premise—a serial killer who no longer loves their work. Unfortunately, while Mark Duplass is pretty great, I just didn't care for the character of Sara, nor the decisions the writers explored. I feel like the concept itself was pretty untouched. I'd have loved to dig deeper into Josef and see his rediscovery more through personal reflection. As it is, it isn't bad: it's just inferior to the first. 3/5.

I wasn't scared, wasn't thrilled, wasn't entertained during any part of the movie except the first meeting between the two main characters. The whole movie really sucked. The acting was ok but there wasn't much happening during the entire movie. Even the ending was not just meh. Waste of my time tbh.

Subverts expectation right up until the end. This is an effective follow-up to Creep, being both blackly funny and creepily disturbing.
