Leave it to Anno to make a proper, over the top, live-action adaptation. Yes it is silly but I enjoyed seeing something like this adapted to the real world and it even had some good scenes that are a bit more serious which you would not expect. If you're not in it for the camp though you will be disappointed (or annoyed by Cutie).

That's exactly how an anime would look like if it was a live action. Silly, unrealistic and very entertaining.
