Mon Ket ('My Son' in Belgian slang) is just one more reason to like Belgian star François Damiens...as though there weren't enough already.
This film is the actor's first time behind the camera and he delivers here a comedy similar in style to Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (older and younger actors interact with real people in candid camera type situations), with the exception that Mon Ket has a more traditional storyline and semblance of a narrative arc.
The first half of the film is laugh out loud funny and even touching at moments, and while the hook loses its effectiveness in the second half, overall the film remains a fun way to spend 90 minutes.
