Quite a different horror movie, I quite enjoyed it. I was not expecting that plot twist at the end!
this was so boring but mary shaw kinda iconic they should have made like an origin story about her instead
Not good what so ever. The ending is somewhat interesting when it reviled his dad is actually dead but fails to keep me interested throughout. Just watch an ending explained video on YouTube. This is not worth you’re time
Some of the creepiest movies and shows I've seen feature dummies ("Dead of Night", "Magic", Twilight Zone's "The Dummy"), and the best part of this movie is the suspenseful moments of silence when we hear the dummy creaking, see its eyes move, or notice that it's in a different position than it was before someone turned their back on it.
The sound editing and the dummy effects were easily the best part of this. Mary Shaw was a frightening character, too. Especially when she was performing with 'Billy' the Dummy on stage and threatened a young heckler. There is also a moment when they show her face in a crawl space just before she kills Henry that is very effective.
The characters were vanilla but the story was good and I didn't really care that no one in the movie could act. The lack of gore proves that an atmospheric, tense movie beats a hack fest every time. I liked the twist at the end and appreciated that it concluded in dark fashion.
Really cool movie! That dolls are so creepy and scary, I like it!
Very well done! Great setting and interesting storyline-- keeps you hooked! I guessed fairly early on that it was the stepmother who was involved but hadn't guessed the extent of that twist. Fun!
I liked the way they used the dolls. I thought it would be a Chucky-style doll but it was much more subtle which I thought was good.
The ending was cool but it was a slog to get there.
I love Saw and I love Slappy from Goosebumps, so sign me up for this film! I saw this in theaters way back in the day and had a guilty pleasure time with it then. This watch showed a few more holes than I remember, but it was still a good time!
