Cult classic especially for KISS fans or anyone that went to their first concert in the early 80's or before. Back when teenagers could get alcohol legally at 18, could get fake ID's from the freshman "geek" that looked better than an actual DMV issued one, and just really captures the time.
It's also about friendship, first love, different types of parents kids deal with and first experiences.
If you can ignore that KISS, or at least Gene Simmons, embraced a racist leadership (totally unfathomable at all levels), this is great. BTW you should be able to. KISS is the back theme but not really party to the interactions. Just pretend they're going to see a less racist band if you need to. **Maybe someone can make a girl version going to see Duran Duran instead.

This is a fun little cult comedy that holds up decently well but the soundtrack gets a little too excessive and the dynamic between the group could've been a little better. It certainly deserved to make a lot more money at the box office though. Oh well, Gene Simmons can probably spare some money.
