I hope I don't have to turn in my film nerd credentials, but I think Bresson is tedious and unwatchable. I've read a bit about him and what he's trying to do to help me get on the right wavelength, but at the end of the day I just don't think he's very successful. When you deny your actors the tools of the trade, it produces the effect of watching dull robots reading a bad audiobook. I wish I could get into this, especially given its influence on later works I'm fond of, but I just can't.
