Distant Journey 1949

[AtlàntidaFF, 4K] A visually splendid film that confronts reality with the representation of the oppression of Jews inherited from neorealism, but with an expressionist tone in the Terezin ghetto. An honest movie that portrays the horror of the occupation with a rage rarely seen. The influence of Orson Welles is clear in the suicide, but the liberation scene, even without emotional catharsis, is deeply moving.
