not a bad movie, i actually liked it. Pretty decent action movie
You need to understand right away that this is NOT a Jean Claude van Damme movie. It has JCVD in it, and there are a couple of VERY brief, confusing "fight" scenes that are either poorly choreographed, jumbled, or so poorly lit (the night scene at the dock) that you can't tell just how rusty his skills are. This is not the JCVD from the '80s who was doing splits, showing his bare butt in every movie, and talking with that annoying/endearing Belgian accent. This is a washed up, aged has-been wearing a horrid wig and trying to act like a villain…a part that doesn't suit him at all. While the bad-guy routine was somewhat different, make no mistake: this was not a JCVD movie. It was an extremely generic "action/adventure" - type movie that had so many unbelievable plot holes from the start that I should have turned it off within the first 10 minutes. Sadly, I didn't, and that was an hour and a half that I just wasted. This was bad by all standards: the acting was wooden (at best), the plot completely unbelievable, the dialogue, the added old man in the cabin added NOTHING...the lighting for much of the film was absolutely horrible…there was absolutely nothing good about this movie. Completely awful all the way around.
NOTE Be advised that, near the end of the movie, there is a scene where one of the characters is using a light to try and spot something. For a brief period of time, the light flickers/flashes quite rapidly (as the character is moving it around) and could possibly cause some issues with anyone having epilepsy or other similar light-triggered dysfunction. The flashing light was annoying even to me, and I felt it might be helpful to caution about it. The flashing starts around the 1:10:05 mark when a police boat arrives at the dock; the flickering lights continue for almost a full two minutes to around 1:11:55 and can be very annoying.
i mean really? JCVD has done some great action movies in his career. This wasn't one of them. He phoned in his performance and his character was not believable in any way.
Was this the movie that killed Peter Hyams' career as a director and cinematographer?
JCVD is really convincing as a crazy vegan villain.
One of the worst movies I have seen in a very long time.
Seriously.

JCVD makes a nice and funny bad guy :D . ur average action flick with the normal plot hole you would find on a movie like this. Just think it should have some better people making those secondary roles... awful acting...
