Is Ryan Reynolds ever NOT acting like Deadpool? Guess Deadpool is just Ryan Reynolds.
Well I wasn’t disappointed with this spin off and knowing his work for deadpool 2 amazed me I didn’t have any doubts and it didn’t let me down because it was a decent film with some high grade action with a good cast also loved the jokes and references. Definitely a lot of fun and It was better than most Fast & furious. I’ve got to say, the rock and statham make a good team and I wouldn’t say no for another movie.
I found it to be really entertaining and comical. Had plenty of action scenes to enjoy and liked the little Easter egg comment by Statham referencing one of his cars from The Italian Job.

This movie is set after the most recent Fast And Furious Films where it shows two very different characters called Hobbs And Shaw that they are like brothers with a love hate friendship where they rub each other up the wrong way while cracking hilarious jokes about each other. Nevertheless when it gets down to dangerous situations they both go in and work really well together. Hobbs is more family oriented where he is a lot calmer with a steady day to day life with his lovely daughter that is really cute to see his sweet innocent side to him that makes him seem a lot more human. When it comes down to defeating enemies Hobbs tends to chuck extremely heavy objects at them like chairs, nevertheless compared to Shaw is more refined as he defeats enemies using finesse and skill he kind of shows off while getting the job done. Shaw has a less stable life where he prefers to work alone with very little backup and pushing family away along with his friends while making a lot of enemies along the way. I loved the cute heartfelt moments between Hattie And Shaw was so cute as well. If you have a spare two hours and sixteen minutes I highly recommend you watch this hilarious heartfelt film, which you will not be disappointed as you will recognise some familiar funny faces along the way that is great.
Just a lot of meh alpha male bs with asscringing one-liners and cliché predictability. The default blueprint for every MI-style movie with good looks thrown in the mix, that add nothing. Maybe it's fun for the typical American wanna be alpha male; but for the rest of the world it's totally painful to watch.

Basically a spin-off with the two most interesting characters in the Fast & Furious franchise. Add Idris Elba as a super soldier villain, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, some badass female operatives, Kevin Hart and you've got yourself a cool action comedy flick. None of it would work without the rivalry between The Rock and Statham, it's incredibly entertaining and funny. The comedy is juvenile at times but it totally works because the movie knows what it is and the jokes land. It doesn't feel like a F&F movie, it has some high tech sci-fi elements and feels more like a special agent movie with less car chases. It's non-stop entertainment but I felt the runtime about three quarters in, picked back up before the third act. Third act was a whole other level of ridiculousness and it was awesome. Vanessa Kirby as Hattie Shaw was a great addition to the franchise, I hope we see her again.

Disengage your brain and sit back and enjoy this ride. More of a comedy than an action movie, this was actually very enjoyable. At times, it looked VERY MUCH as though both Johnson and Statham were trying hard to NOT crack a smile during their dialogues with each other. I'm not a fan of the Fast & Furious series, at all. But I actually enjoyed this spin-off. At least till that car(s) vs helicopter duel, that was just as absurd as this series usually is. The characters/actors and their feuds had a greater appeal.
This was spectacular. So much boom, hilarious and amazing cinematography. Had no idea it got a 3D release, saw it at the IMAX in 2D and 3D at home. The 3D was spectacular!

Similar to my last Fast and Furious review, this movie is so ridiculous. SO RIDICULOUS... but a lot of fun. If you are a fan of David Leitch's style of action filming (Deadpool), this might be for you.

This movie is packed with action with a good blend of comedy. Does a great job steering its own path, far away from the Fast and Furious plots.

Watched the 3D version and was pleasantly surprised about the effect. Not ridiculously overdone but still present. Quit a few scenes in this movie were made for a good 3D effect, things happening in the background while the main characters talk etc.

A bit of big loud dumb fun hampered by the movie not being able to adequately make a case for it's LONG running time (much less THREE mid-credit scenes AND an after-credit one) There's a nice tight action film that would've been 90 minutes in there somewhere amidst the scenes that could've been trimmed or cut completely.

One strange cut has the Rock yelling at the baddies and it cuts off abruptly mid-stream after 'you' I guess the quota of fucks for a pg-13 film had been used up in the beginning.
A Fast & Furious spin-off, Hobbs & Shaw is a big doubt action film. When a bio-weapon is stolen the CIA recruits DRS officer Luke Hobbs and former MI6 agent Deckard Shaw to recover it, but to do so they’ll have to put their personal differences aside. Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have great chemistry together and their fight scenes are incredibly exciting and fun. But the script is really poor and doesn’t make a lot of sense. A disappointing addition to the Fast & Furious franchise, Hobbs & Shaw is entertaining but doesn’t live up to the hype.
By now you know what to expect from this franchise. If you love the previous movies you,re gonna love this one. If not, well just don't bother. It ain't changing. In fact this movie doubles down on the ridicoulesness. And I love every goddamn second of it (well except Kevin Hart but that's another story).
This a perfectly standard Dwayne Johnson movie and a substandard Jason Statham movie. As even he couldn't redeem Johnson's wooden acting. Try to shove all this new "Family" down our throats still won't give it the heart that the mothership series has built over the course of time. Nevermind what it achieved in the first

This movie has bags of both, packs a punch and nearly made me cry with laughter.

A nice add-on to the Fast & Furious family. It is a nice try and the team has made its effort so visible on the screen. I believe it had become more of a action movie than a action movie with loads of cars. I believe it is because of the spinoff.
There are couple of surprises in the movie which made it little fun and interesting.

Well, I expected something more from F&F franchise. This movie should've been named only Hobbs and Shaw, not FF. Also I don't know if to take this one as a Comedy or Action? But at the end it doesn't matter as neither was good. Relationship between Shaw and Hobbs and their making jokes from each other was fine for the first time they met but then again and again and again... Every time they were alone it was still the same and it looked really bad. So what was funny in the previous FF movie was terrible here. No chemistry between actors. The plot was very easy, Reynolds cameo was terrible and I didn't get it at all. Stupid talking...and the after credit scene was WTF? I'm really disappointed by this one. After the previous movie I was thrilled for this one but my expectation wasn't fulfilled. At the end the best actor and best character was Idris Elba and finally I caught myself I was on his side. Nevermind, it's not total waste of time but it's one-time job. You watch it, really soon forget it and you will probably never watch it again. Because there's no reason.
Movie was as expected. A lot of fun. I loved the dialogues! The action was good (as expected from the series). For the story - turn your brain off and enjoy ;)
Just watched this movie at theatre near my home. Very entertaining, lots of crazy action sequences, lots of funny moments and Vanessa Kirby is really a bad ass action star. Truly recommended, guys.

It's a big, dumb, loud action movie and it's a lot of fun. The Rock and Statham have some good back and forth with a few funny moments. Idris Elba is going HAM and looks like he is having fun. Vanessa Kirby is great, I hope to see her in more movies. The action is shot well. Most of it is super silly and sometimes there is just too much going on. The movie didn't need to be this long. If you want to see some explosions and have fun at the movies this should be a good time.
Saw it last night......this movie was ridiculous, didn't need to be made I wish it never existed.
Did enjoy the cameos from well, you know who.
I cant even remember what the heck it was about and why was it so long the last 25-30 yawn.
Still it'll make money as the two leads are bankable right now.

Stupid movie...give it 3 stars for the entertainment for about 15 minutes...Beyond that it's a waste of 120 mins of you life you will never get back. A lot of people writing a thesis as a review on here about this & that but let me tell you it's a crap movie. Sure you will enjoy bits of it, which will amount to about 15 mins of total entertainment. Beyond that you're better off watching paint dry for 120 minutes.
'Hobbs & Shaw' is literally 2 hours of people dissing each other and it isn't just from Dwayne and Statham.
It's a dumb movie, but at this point we should just expect that with these movies. Judging it on a entertainment standpoint, it succeeds on that. I was never bored watching it, which is the best compliment I can give.
Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham both have such great chemistry and comedic timing, the movie wouldn't stand without them, of course.
I liked Idris Elba as the main baddie who has a past vendetta to crack. While not one of his best performance, yet still manages to bring a physical presence to the screen. Vanessa Kirby was a standout as she's fully aware how ridiculous it all is, but plays along anyway.
There's a few surprises along the way that actually caught me off guard.
However, judging this as a movie - there's less positives to say. The dialogue is awful, action scenes happen for the shake of it, and the movie is a little too long. And since everybody in this universe is immortal despite the fights, free falls and explosions - Dwayne and Statham are unhurt, which deflates any sense of danger. Also the trash talking between the two gets stale really quick.
Overall rating: See it if you know what you are getting into.

So, a chopper pulling away + the weight of 4 cars pulling the front truck of the cliff is not enough for 2 rubber tyres on gravel to lose its grip? Damn thats some quality tyres right there. Now serious, this movie it so stupid. Definitely not a F&F movie, just the title to sell tickets. **and they hacked the super advanced corporation on a win95 pc in a shed? And they disabled a knife! 3/10
Hobbs and Shaw works when it focuses on the action, the special effects, and the surprisingly efficient use of a solid soundtrack. It fails miserably, however, when it gives a joke to anyone but Ryan Reynolds or when it insists on inflicting upon us the bickering banter of the two leads. Sadly, the film fails more than it works. Still, I'd rather watch this than any of the Fast and Furious franchise.
Ah look, it is very entertaining and as full of action and madness as you'd expect. I could have done with a little more character every now and then, but it did the job.

The scene with Ryan Reynolds was good and funny bit the kevin Hart scene I felt was unnecessary and he didn't even act that funny and Had barely any screen time. good movie though.
SHIT story some good action, turn the volume down and watch SOME of the action...doubt it will sink the spinoff franchise though. england is no doubt gathering australian gold for the next editions

I have a lot of fun with this one, Statham and The Rock together are perfect and even Reynolds and Hart are funny.
I do find it a bit too long and I even though the F&F franchise is always becoming crazier, I find Idris Elba as basically a superhuman annoying. But the fun outweighs those points so I'll gladly come back to this movie every so often.

Neither one car scene neither one fight scene is possible not even for a long shot nor possible to swallow even if you are drunk, maybe I am just to old to watch this nonsense but thats how it is for me. i watched it only to see why 7 and i can understand that the cast carry big part, but who ever drove a bike can give this movie mark higher then 5. But I respect other people opinion and understand that we dont have to think the same i just had to give my opinion because movie left me so empty so shallow i had to write this. l wish i can get my time back but my faith kept me in seat waiting for just one scene to be from this World and nothing....the part where a guy flies thru double decker both metal and wood part was pretty close because if you cam survive fall from 4th floor you definitely can go thru a bus without a scratch sorry not my cup of tea
I'm on a Fast & Furious marathon this weekend. It was recommended that I watch this spin-off movie in-between Fate of the Furious and F9. That's recommendation is spot-on.
Great spin-off and as always packed with crazy stunts, hilarious dialogue and NOS. It ain't a F&F movie if it doesn't feature someone flipping a switch at some point and sending NOS to the engine. :metal_tone2:

The only real difference with the main Fast & Furious movies is that there’s no Vin Diesel. He is the only person on Earth to still believe that the F&F is to be taken seriously, which made the movies feel even more ridiculous in a grotesque kind of way. I love guilty pleasures and the so-called so bad it’s good movies, but the magic happens only when there is a certain amount of unawareness involved. This spin-off is quite the opposite: The Rock and Statham are definitely much more likable and amusing than the whole Toretto family put together, but despite their tongue-in-cheek attitude and deliberately over-the-top outings, the result is not as ridiculous and absurd as one would expect. Terrible writing aside, it was much closer to a competently directed generic action flick. I thought that Diesel’s pretentiousness was holding the dumb fun back, but there’s enough chance that it was actually its main source.
I did not hate this movie, I did not love it.
Statham, Johnson, Elba, and Kirby are the engine that drives this pretty ridiculous and overlong Fast and Furious spin-off. If not for these actors seemingly enjoying this over the top production, this would be a straight to VOD action flick (likely starring Bruce Willis). The jokes are obvious, but work well enough. The occasional attempt at an emotional beat is fine. The cameos are hit or miss (Ryan Reynolds, as always, is superb). The action is nonsensical, but fun. I really wish they'd have tightened things up and cut out about 30-40 minutes, though, since there is a natural climax at about the 90 minute mark...but then it drags on as it hits a lesser climax to complete the film. Still, despite that, this is a pretty fun turn-off-your-brain movie.

It really does feel, at this point, that Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have contracts to keep score; whether that means having the same amount of back-and-forth dialogue, trading insults, how many punches they take from each other, the amount of times they fall down compared to one another, etc. Really quite boring with no stakes when you realise you're watching highly egotistical mirrors who will never be shattered.
Let me be clear to begin with: this is no Fast and Furious, apart from two characters. It is not about cars, it is just an action/comedy movie. Entertaining, but too long!

Let's face it, the F&F saga is as empty in nutrients as a bag of popcorn... It makes a tonne of money but the films started weak and have only grown more grotesque ever since.
Was it the 5th one in Brazil? That was quite enjoyable. The rest are pretty crap. The Marvel version of heists - loads of CG and careless.
This one is by far the best of the whole extended anthology. Funny, loads of action, brilliant cameos. The only problem is it could be 5 or 10 minutes shorter. Oh, Statham's a little irritating too. And there are some CG sequences that look a bit cheap and nasty.

This movie was solid, it wasn't amazing, but it was decent in terms of Fast & Furious films. The chemistry between The Rock and Jason Statham is what really stands out here. The film itself is comprised of a lot of action scenes - which all look amazing. I would've loved for the storyline to be fleshed out more. I wished they would've dove into Idris Elba's backstory, because it seemed like there wasn't enough there.

Since the complete degeneration of the F&F franchise my expectations where low but still it managed to disappoint.
Halfway in I though to myself: well at least they're not doing the completly over the top ridiculous car stunts.

While not wholly irredeemable, this movie was an incomprehensible mess. I enjoyed the cast. However, the story was ridiculous. While there are certainly elements in the story you can recognize from the "Fast & Furious" franchise, this story has little to do with the characters from it.
Vanessa Kirby is the new addition to the "family," with an appearance by Helen Mirren. Eden Estrella, who played Hobbs' daughter in Furious' 7 and 8, has been inexplicably replaced by Eliana Sua. Also, there are a couple of uncredited yet substantial cameos by Ryan Reynolds and Kevin Hart.
There are several mid-credits scenes and a post-credits scene, but if you haven't walked out by now, what's stopping you?
Jason and Dwanye work well together. I enjoyed this movie, lots of action, some comedy between our 2 stars and a return home for Dwanye. Overall, good. Not really an F&F movie, but good anyway. Helen is very funny in the prison scenes. Worth a watch.

It is fun to watch, just that, no reason to be called "Fast" or "Furious" but still is entertaining.
The creative action and fighting are exceptionally good. But the story isn’t going anywhere. This should be a completely new movie not a spin-off. There are a lot of things that don’t add up or feel right. Cars are burning. But fast and furious spin isnt there.
This was a very solid spinoff from the F&F. The two best characters of the franchise get an action movie that isn't bogged down with the enormous casts F&F have been sporting lately. Some good car chases, battles and fights punctuated by nice comic relief from Kevin Hart and Ryan Reynolds. They could stop the "main" movies and stick with this branch as far as I'm concerned. Good flick. 7/10

There were some lines that were really clunky. Some lines were so cheesy i needed lactaid pills. Many parts of the movie were super predictable and silly tropes. It made no sense that Hobbs could pull a Captain America move.
BUT Vanessa Kirby kicked tons of ass! I loved seeing so much of Samoa and that the haka was subtitled! The special effects and stunts were pretty great and i loved that there was production done with FilmHawai'i. And the car chases were explosive like the main franchise. The single standout performer? Eliana Su'a as Hobb's daughter Sam! So CUTE!
P.S. I hope there's more of the whole Shaw family in a future film!
The movie was BORING. The whole time I was wondering wtf I am watching it and why I am watching it. There was 0 FF vibe, the music was awful, the acting was forced, the story line was poor... When it was over I was so damn happy and left the cinema regretting for spending money on that.
