28-year-old French actor Félix Moati directs his first film with subtlety and technical skill. Sadly, the material and the actors (save Benoît Poelvoorde and Anaïs Demoustier--and I mean that literally: Please save them from this movie) don't live up to the challenge. While this film feels frigid (it just sits there and lets you watch it, not caring if you like it and faking the climax), the technical expertise makes me eager to see what Moati brings to the table next.
