Good performanes, pacing kinda slow, and movie drags a bit but still decent overall.
The film does not look anything like the real story. Far from the personality of Du Pond, and the real sense of danger he was. Watch the documentary and see the real story.
Employment, or how to legally own another person.
This is a really good movie. But its a movie I feel like I don't have to watch again. One of the main aspects of the movie that holds it up is Steve Carrell's performance. Now, I already think that his comedic work is pretty stellar, but it was really interesting to see him take up a more interesting role. And I'm sure many people will watch this movie because of that. He did pull it off very well, and I respect the intelligent decision with the use of prosthetic make-up. Wheter or not it was to make him look like the real life person he was playing, it was better to have him show up visually as a different character rather than just "Micheal Scott". It was generally entertaining and parts of it were well-shot. But what really made it suffer was how repetitive it was. I know they were basing it on a true stroy but they were really stretched it out. But still I'm glad it wasn't one of "those" sport movies. Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo were also great. The use of prosthetic ears to illustrate their long time battles in the ring was a very welcome touch. This was a pretty good movie but I don't feel I'll need to watch this again.
The acting is great and I like the directing just enough, but this movie was very slow. The plot twist came out of nowhere and had I not previously read an article about the events this movie was based off of I would have liked it even less; it made no sense in the movie because there was no explanation whatsoever as to why it happpened, not even vaguely. I liked aspects of this movie for sure and I like Channing Tatum here more than I'd expected to like him (especially in a specific breakdown scene), but I would not watch it again.
Several people were unhappy with the lack of Foxcatcher on nominations for Best Picture at the Academy Awards, I was not. Although Steve Carrell does a great job playing John Du Pont and the work of Makeup department achieves a brutal transformation, I think the movie fails at: do not bother me slow films with long scenes of little dialogue but I think what happens in it is that it engages in maintaining a slow European-rhythm that evolution of the characters do not have adequate treatment and goes from a scene with certain personalities to one in which the characters have changed dramatically without implying why.
I had such a hard time enjoying this movie. I found it boring and awkward.
the script has so many holes... I couldn't see the purpose of making this movie. Nevertheless, it has great actings, great production plan and it's pretty good for a sports movie
A chilling, quiet psychological drama about men striving for greatness

Foxcatcher is a decent film that left me with mixed feelings. I can't comment on how accurate it is since I don't know much about the true story, but as a standalone movie, it might be worth taking a flyer on. The standout performance is undoubtedly Steve Carell's, who delivers a chilling portrayal of John du Pont. The rest of the cast is solid, but Carell steals the show. My biggest critique is that the film could have been a bit shorter as it drags in some parts.
Such a slow and pathetic movie, couldn't even finish it. There are long gaps between dialogues so you can't keep up with the movie.
Such a good movie to watch while you a high or drunk. Highly recommended.
Great performances, especially Carrell. But soooooo slow and boring.
it's ok if you're an awkward weirdo. With enough money, you can buy people.
Ok, I admit that I'm probably judging this movie lower than I should. I have no problems really, and all the acting is great. I just wasn't really in the mood for such a slow drama I guess. I kept looking at my phone or computer because I was not fully on board. So honestly, I don't even want to say I know what I'm judging here. But at the same time I think I need to officially do this since I did get through the whole movie. I'll just need to watch this again when I'm in the right frame of mind to rate correctly.
boring, do not watch this even if you love channing tatum. waste of time
Perhaps the slowest and most boring film ever.
I wish I could get the 2 hours of my life back.
I had not recognized Steve Carell ahah great movie !!
