"Help! He's killing me! He's killing me!"
The Final Chapter is one of my favorite Friday the 13th films. It has Tom Savini returning to do the effects, we have Crispin Glover doing a iconic dance, it has Tommy Jarvis's debut played by Feldman, the hippie girl down the road, the morgue scene, Jason getting brutally slashed in the face, Sam telling us he's being killed which is so funny and Jason is just being brutal.
I think this is the one I have seen the most and just right after part VI this is my favorite. I like the teenagers, I like the final girl and time flies while watching this one. Only minor thing, I'm not a sucker for those off-screen kills and we should've gotten more of Gordon.
These have gotten pretty formulaic but this one is just enough different to make it interesting. Having another family living near by instead of sexually active teenagers gave us someone to care about. But seriously, why would you live that close to Crystal Lake? You know there have been killings. George McFly's dance scene was something and they had a character just watching silent naked women films. What? Overall still entertaining with some good nudity, kills, and gore.
My favorite of the franchise that I've seen so far. There's so much to love. It's just nastier and oddly has the most heart compared to the first three. The characters are actually believable opposed to just being flat and honestly I hate to see each one of them die! Crispin Glover dance is undoubtedly the highlight of the film. I could watch him dance all day long. Also Jason is relentless and unstoppable in this. The kills are so creative and memorable with some top tier makeup from Savini to go along with it . God, I love this entry!
A Couple Notes
How Jason made it out of that hospital unseen i don't know lol
Crispin Glover's chicken dance is unmatched!
Rob 's "He's killing Me, He's killing meeeee" is one of the most ridiculous lines in the whole franchise lol
Corey Feldman/Tommy really f**ks Jason up in this movie. And how he survived when half of his face/head slides down the machete i'll never know, however they did think this was the final one I guess, and they gave it to him good.
This is my favorite film of the franchise so far. It’s not necessarily a great movie, but it is fun movie.
I liked the pacing, you don’t get bored while waiting for the night scenes where the action can start. Joseph Zito is good slasher director, he also directed The Prowler, a good movie as well. Wish he had directed more.
The killings are creative and the gore and special effects are pretty good, thanks to the master Tom Savini who helped create Jason in the first movie. This time he wanted to help kill off Jason.
One thing that helps the movie not being so formulaic or making it interesting enough are the victims. Yes, you have the usual reckless and stupid young people, but the main characters are a family that happens just to live near Crystal Lake (which is kinda weird, but ok) making the film at least a little bit different and not that unbearable. Among the stupid ones there’s George McFly, I wasn’t expecting that, it was cool.
There’s also the most nudity I’ve seen in one of these movies. I’m not complaining, quite the opposite, just pointing out.
Jason visual is also my favorite.
20 minutes left but this one is my favourite so far. The kills aren't as elaborate but overall its much better than the previous ones. Though I don't understand how Jason is alive. Best not to ask too many questions. This one has the most characters I liked. Including Teddy. The acting is a lot better and so are the effects. Especially the Dingy and Shower scene.
Im pretty desensitised when it comes to horror but I find it more shocking when I am actually engaged in the characters story, that way the kills can be less dramatic but still have a bigger impact.
I just watched the entire Nightmare on Elm street series, which has a great concept but poor execution. This seems to be the opposite. There's not much of a concept, but the execution is pretty good. At least from a special and make up effects point of view, I can tell these people made this with love. Even if the production company just wanted to cash in.
I see now why this series is a classic, which I didn't understand after seeing the 2nd one.
The BTS on the bluray with Corey Feldman was good too.
i watched movies that were a complete waste of time, but this one was the worst of them all. i never in my life wanted characters to die as soon as possible. the script was terrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrible. the killing made no sense whatsoever, one second he is in the kitchen and the next you see a girl who kept looking and going and looking for 300 times waiting for something obviously and boom it's Jason of course, he went from the kitchen to outside in 1st floor window to kill this girl, Quicksilver he is lol. and the guy who wanted to avenge his sister or whatever, they gave him no story and then drop the news that he is actually looking for jason because he killed his sis, when he meets him he goes at him with a small kitchen knife and do nothing but scream 'oh my god he's killing me, he's killing me'!!!!!!!!! seiously!!!!!
WASTE OF TIME.
Forgot to mention the wee Mouth from the goonies lol
Lol Crispin Glover just a big a dork here as in BTTF LOL
A very fun splatterfest as Jason is becoming more and more the iteration we now know and love. Crispin Glover bringing big Bo Burnham energy and Corey Feldman bringing horny Feldman energy. The kills are no nonsense and Savini is on point, I do wish we could linger a bit more to really marvel at his work.
It’s interesting to think if they made this today, we would have way more Tommy interjecting himself in the scenes and some nonsense about his lack of a father figure. I also think that they wouldn’t be able to help themselves and would have had Jason wearing one of Tommy’s masks at the end, I’m basically saying they do a lot of stupid shit these days.
Hmm, yeah...
To be fair, it's the best one in the franchise and has some of the best effects in the series.
Another one in the books.
After a brief diversion to clear out/escape from the nearest morgue, Jason returns from his machete-assisted hibernation to resume slicing and dicing the denizens of Crystal Lake. This time we shake up the formula a bit, introducing a relatively innocent single-parent family to the mix, though the vacationing kids across the street are more than happy to continue with the sex, drugs and rock'n'roll that's so familiar.
It's a grab bag, really, a bunch of randomly-associated (or, often, not associated whatsoever) snippets that float around in the wash and occasionally bump into one another. I found it curious to spot a few name actors in the crowd this time: Crispin Glover is his usual awkward self and Corey Feldman plays the same mouthy, bratty kid you might expect given his early '80s stardom. Kevin Bacon's appearance in the first film may have set this stage, but it's still a little strange to see recognizable faces in the midst of such a transparent, genre-specific story, especially when one of them catches a grievous head wound near the climax.
Every bit as indulgently gore-soaked, under-written and simple-minded as the previous chapter, if perhaps with an even looser grasp on reality. It's roll-your-eyes bad, but not quite change-the-channel bad.
In Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter Jason faces his most formidable opponent yet...Corey Feldman. After a rough day at the morgue Jason heads back to Crystal Lake to wipe out a groups of horny teenagers staying at a lodge, but little does he know that the hunter has now become the hunted as the brother of one of his victims has come in search of revenge. The storytelling's pretty bad and doesn't know which characters to follow or how to integrate them into a cohesive plot. Additionally, the kill scenes aren't that intense or frightening. While it's an ambitious film, Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter fails to deliver the fear and terror that began the series.

Let me tell you all people something this is the second movie of that franchise to live up to to the expectation of course after the first film whereas all the rest of the movie parts were a little over the top and some were well beyond of our imagination. But this right here was just brilliant. It was the best way to end the series which was more of a logical way but no... they the filmmakers decided why don't we have our jason to come back from the dead(that was a mistake ) .Though they earned money but I felt that they were just dragging the film when the end could have come faster and much watchable so as to finish the franchise with a big bang. But that no to happen as we got about seven films after this including a reboot
The one where George McFly and Mouth take on Jason. It's silly and stupid but there's some good nudity at least lol. I agree with Roger Ebert, the remake is much better than all the originals.
