Giving Birth to a Butterfly 2023

My brain commited suicide after finishing it and recognising its just a giant mess "artsy"

-"I can't be a half any longer."
-"Life is all about unfolding."

Like looking at a 16mm polaroid photo album riddled in poems and souvenirs, you watch these characters get melancholic and ponder at some big questions. Monologues of poems, a road trip, two individuals bonding, an identity theft and a mystery. Giving Birth to a Butterfly is all about finding your other half, identity, meaning, hope—similar to how the movie itself struggles at finding it's identity, it's genre. There's hope in the first and second acts but the Twin Peaks-esque third act was too much for my brain. Some of it makes sense but most of it i'm clueless.
