Very likeable drama, but it is very conventional and offers few surprises. Worth a watch, if only for Andrew Scott's English teacher who channels a little bit of Dead Poets in his performance.

Good movie, worth the watch. Like already said, if you're looking for a love-relationship film, this isn't it; 'Handsome Devil' focus on the values of friendship and companionship, centered in a seemingly homophobic school which has to eventually lead with its homosexual students. I'm sad it lacks any Smiths' tracks, considering its title, but it's a nice watch nonetheless!

Super god damn cute! The leading gents are so adorable. I love seeing LGBTQAI movies that have gay teens as friends just living life and not always some depressing period piece.

Are you brave enough to be who you are? Is it OK to break with the herd? These are great coming of age questions that are especially difficult to answer in a pressure cooker of a boarding school. I give this film a 7 (good) out of 10. [Coming of age drama]
This is quite clever, you are lead to believe that Ned's character may be gay but it's never explicitly stated and it's quite possible that he's not.
I discovered Andrew Scott thanks to Sherlock and I used to think he was really good, but he always looks like a psychopath in every role he does so I'm rethinking his talent actually.
Ah yeah, the movie is pretty basic, it's ok I guess.

If you haven't watched the movie already, you'd find that you could have watched something better. If you are going to copy a classic i.e Dead Poet's Society, atleast make this one set in the present era. Seriously outdated, man.

Je adore the movie. The only reason it's not a 10/10 is that it's way too similar to the Dead Poets Society. Same English teacher with his unorthodox pedagogy, same sports vs. arts dilemmas, except this time the characters are openly gay and that adds a dimension.
It's equally moving, with the same twist of pupils taking sides, which is the climax of the movie. The acting is great too. I wouldn't be surprised if 5-10 years down the road we see some of these same faces playing in the top gear movies, running for the top prizes. Certainly worth watching - it's not just a coming out of age and a coming out of closet movie, but also a touching young folks' drama set up in a realistic environment. Great piece!
Thoroughly recommend it for all - especially for those who think that anyone who is different is a lesser individual.

This movie is sooooo bad, it's offensive how bad it is
Feel good Irish movie, however homophobia shown in movie is a tad outdated (thankfully) and also the drinking of alcohol in a school uniform is something that would not be tolerated at all, especially for a private school.
