Be sure to watch this even if it may be on of the worst movies made. If there ever was a movie so bad it's funny, it has to be this one.
This movie is made to show off Arnolds muscles. But it is fun to watch.
"A fine chariot... but where are your horses?"
Hercules in New York was the debut of a cinematic legend, the cinematic legend Arnold Strong. Arnold Strong was a young bodybuilding machine from Austria with a thick accent and a body for the ages. And Mr. Strong had set his sight to becoming a leading actor and this was suppose to be his big break. At only 22 years old he was going to play Hercules, the same role as his idol Reg Park. What a way to conquer the silver screen.
The movie itself isn't any good but I was not bored by it. I do wish that I had seen the original cut and not the cinematic version. Although I saw the legend that is Arnold Strong, I kept wondering why he spoke perfectly English. Why was that? Well, the answer is Zeus had him being dubbed over because of his thick accent. I do know that there are versions out there with Strong's whole performance and that is one I tend to seek out in the future. In this one we see Hercules being down in New York with his best buddy Topcat, I mean Arnold Stang. We see him wrestle a bear in an epic scene, beating people up, questioning earthly stuff and getting into trouble. I won't spoil the plot for you, so you have at least something to look forward to!
Anyway let's be honest. Arnold Schwarzenegger's debut film isn't that good but it is an interesting watch to see one of my favorite actors of all time at the beginning of his legendary career and I think everyone can at least get some enjoyment out of this one. So if you like Arnie, give this one a chance!
The movie where Arnold wrestles a bear in Central Park. Do you need anything else?
It's very old now, and they used a voice that isn't Arnold Schwarzenegger, but it was actually quite good. I enjoyed the movie.

This movie is so bad but it's also hilarious. I especially liked the Benny Hill type music during the action scenes.
