If you want more music, go seek out 'Standing in the Shadow of Motown - The story of the Funk Brothers'.

This is the essential story from those who were there - and it's sad to say, the story of those who are left.

It's great to hear from Smokey (and it's only right he shares most of the screen time that Berry Gordy gets as he is the unofficial co-founder of Motown) as well as Stevie, Martha, the Holland brothers, Lamont Dozier....

Recently I've watched Clarence's documentary, Quincy, and now this... It's evident that the old guard is leaving a trail for the younger guard.

Kudos to them. This is a public service. The greatest music label of all time came from nothing - the ambition of one young man and the talent of an ever-migrating populace.

This evidences some of the greatest pop music ever recorded. A piece of our culture. A piece of the history of the world.

9/10. Simply wonderful.

(And I cannot wait to rewatch when everyone in the cinema isn't singing along with each song!)
