Home Alone 3 1997

This one was always my favourite Home Alone growing up and I still really enjoy it despite how kinda dumb it is. I have many fond memories with this film and I think it's way better than the two ones before it. It's funny and actually scary at times. The kid actor is great, the storyline is fantastic, the traps are creative, and I completely forgot Scarlett Johansson was in this. Much fun indeed.

Bad movie. Not very Christmas-y at all. A lot of the traps make no sense. The villains being these professional spies compound that problem. Highlights are Scarlett Johansson playing the sister & whoever the brother was. The writing on those 2 is actually pretty good.

absolutely awful but still not quite as terrible as what came afterwards…

First rewatch since I seen in theaters when I was like 12y. This was one of my favourite movies back than. Now not so much. The problem with these bad guys they meant to ve like trained spies but as soon as they come close to a trap they change into idiots. Thr big difference with these and the Wet bandits from 1 & 2. They where kibd of goofy and silly. It worked much better on those first 2 movies.

Well i dont think either home alone 3 or 4 is as good as Home alone 1 and 2 and they dont feel that much like Christmas movies

Rewatched this movie not expecting it to hold up, but I really enjoyed it. The slapstick is spot on.

Some how Home Alone 3 is the only one Roger Ebert liked. While the reviews at rotten tomatoes are even better than Home Alone 2. Critics really are clueless since no way is this better than the second and definitely not the first.
Home Alone 3 has a kid named Alex taking Kevin's place. Yet you'd think it was supposed to be the same family as the previous films. Since the mom looks similar as does the brother look and act similar to Buzz.
While the movie is more like Rear Window meets Home Alone than it is like the previous films. But without Chris Columbus’ directing the film feels second rate and lacks the charm of the first 2 films.

Well you can see a young Scarlett Johansson… that’s about it

Decent fun, though a massive step down from the first two.

Yeah, it isn't that good. I don't really care for Home Alone 2 all that much, but this film makes it look like a masterpiece

Home Alone meets high(?) technology.

Home Alone 3 steers clear of the mistakes of the previous films, and makes all new ones. While home sick during Christmas break, 8-year-old Alex Pruitt is forced to defend his neighborhood against a group of mercenaries who are tempting to steal a top secret computer chip that was smuggled in a toy that was accidentally given to Alex. Whereas 2 went too dark and violent, 3 goes too cartoonish and slapstick. Where the first film thought small, with just a pair of common burglars, 3 goes big, with a team of international terrorists. Still, there’s some cleverness in how this new, original home alone situation is set up; but it quickly devolves into garbage. The main problem with Home Alone 3 is that it’s so pacified that it doesn’t have the darkness or edginess needed to believe that these are real characters, or that this situation is dangerous.
