This film very much plays out like a poor man's Wes Anderson movie. It feels like all of the parts are there - cartoonish characters with a cartoonish backdrop. But it just never seems to click despite the gallant effort of Toni Collete. I actually didn't mind the first two thirds of the movie - it was the last third that really wasn't very good.
