The doctors those days were suffering from RSI and couldn't keep up with the patients "flow"... No, they weren't easily bored. Just imagine how many patients it would take to embrace a vibrator as part of your "relief" equipment?
So... the vibrator was invented to relief the men NOT the women. (lazy SOBs, although it took several hundred years)
