A List Of Parody/Spoof Movies
The best worst horror movies make these “awesomely terrible” lists for a good number of reasons, not least of all because many of them involve plots that are so implausible as to be laughable. Others feature so many horror movie tropes and predictable dialogue that the movie itself is hardly worth watching — though that doesn’t stop horror fanatics looking for an easy, enjoyable way to spend their night.

By the start of the 1990s the market for Slashers had dried up and we entered an area of post-modern Slashers, where the genre reflected on itself. When Gus van Sant remade "Psycho" shot per shot we came full circle.
The genre went on life support...
Genre definition: "Definition: A slasher movie is characterized by a villain who is skilled at killing and uses weapons other than firearms to stalk and target a group of young individuals, resulting in a significant number of victims. This villain may be either human or formerly human."
If I missed any movie you think that should be on this list or if you find some obvious mistakes please let me know and I'll make the appropriate adjustments.
The bar for horror and thrillers is fairly low as it is (imo). Themes are overused. Just hack and slash isn't what I find entertaining. I love a good plot twist. Some films on this list have a plot twist, but not in the spectacular way I prefer them. Some of these are just too classic too discard and some of these are sort of decent. And some of these are just plain bad. The real good stuff (according to me) is in different (and more specific) lists.

Contemporary fears, remakes and some might even say, a reinterpretation of the genre in the later half of the decade.
