The Oscar-nominated short film 'Invincible' does not tell a particularly groundbreaking story. At its core, it is about a teenager who, for reasons unknown to the viewer, is in juvenile detention and finds it increasingly difficult to cope with his situation. It's definitely not a hopeful story, although this is certainly not atypical for the genre. What sets the movie apart from others, however, is the strong performance of young actor Léokim Beaumier-Lépine. He is excellent at conveying the growing desperation of the protagonist, Marc. The movie is also well shot, so I would rate it as a success overall.

Heartbreaking. The acting is very good. The music is good, too. The ending with the dedication to the real Marc is touching.
