Life of the Party 2018

I had to suffer through the first 15 minutes of this because my gf put it on while I was not paying attention. Thankfuly my gf agreed it was turd and we turned it off. It tries super hard to be cute and funny but it’s snot.

Once again Ben and Melissa show us you don't have to go after the most vulnerable in society to make good comedy. It's funny and heartfelt and so pure! A movie about female friendship, mother/daughter relationships, about women of all ages supporting and being there for each other. And it's f*cking hilarious, as well. Kudos to one of my favorite duos out there! I loved it!

It's your standard Melissa McCarthy film and that's what I came for. Decent comedy with a nice message about friendship and following your dreams. Great film to see with friends and have some laughs

Occasionally predictable and sometimes mawkish, but thanks to some big laughs and a winning turn from McCarthey, this graduates from comedy school with nearly but not quite top honors.

Nice little comedy with the great Melissa McCarthy.

I really enjoyed Life of the Party! It was very original and super fun. We laughed out loud and we were just enjoying ourselves a lot to be honest. I really enjoyed the casts, Melissa McCarthy was brilliant as always and the sorority girls were a fun bunch as well. All very different characters. It was fun to see Gillian Jacobs playing a different character from what I'm used to. Maya Rudolph was hilarious, as always and I liked Luke Benward. I've never seen him before this movie, but he's cool.

Something I personally really liked was the fact that the "low point" wasn't too low. I don't like it when a comedy makes me cry, Life of the Party had just the right amount of "low" to still enjoy it and not break out in tears. It's just a perfect feel-good movie in my opinion.

So yea, I really liked it! As I said at the beginning, it's such an original movie and I would for sure watch it again :-)

I think this movie is the breaking point, from now on we should consider Melissa McCarthy as female equivalent of Adam Sandler.

This is not that funny of a comedy. The jokes that do land are too few and far between. It feels very childish. I think it's the writing, maybe Melissa McCarthy should try and stick to acting instead of co-writing with her husband. She is a pretty good actor. She did a great job of reminding me of the super annoying people in college during the first half and there is some ok physical comedy. But there are just so many cringe worthy moments that it makes it almost a hard watch. Maya Rudolph was good though, everytime she was on screen the movie was a lot better.

This was a really fun movie and I liked it a lot. I think it's the best Melissa McCarthy movie since Spy. Just a good-feel and overall uplifting movie. We all need those kind of films sometime.

Finally got around to watching this for the first time. Great comedy film that's about female friendships, standing up for yourself and going after what you want. Like all Melissa McCarthy films, I loved it!

This was AWFUL!!!! Watched the first 15 minutes and regretted every minute. Love Melissa McCarthy, but this is a dog of a movie.

Comedy letting you down, just happy ending is not enough

I loved this movie so much! Not only was it laugh out loud funny, but it also packed a real punch that got me in the feels!

And, well, you can never go wrong with Melissa McCarthy. She's absolutely hilarious. That paddle scene had me laughing so hard!

It's no "Rob Lowe speed-bagging a flaccid pecker in Super Troopers" but surprisingly funnier than Girls trip, Overboard and Bad moms combined

Melissa was fun as always. She is just a funny lady. It was a good movie but she has been better.

finding out jacks origins was hilarious, but the literal gasp from the entire audience in the theater made it even better.

This is the worst Melissa McCarthy movie out of all the stale, dry, tasteless Melissa McCarthy movies out there. I cannot comprehend how she is still making them after all this snl humour in a movie. Not funny. Not one joke lands. Not. One. The story is basic. Characters are loud, obnoxious and basic. There is nothing in this movie except the message that is wedged in there between shit dialogue shit jokes and shit characters. A 3 from me.

Good for a laugh. Well worth a watch.

To be honest...Life of the Party is not my kind of movie. The better half wanted to see it, and when that happens I just find a beer and power through.

Anyway...this comedy has its moments, but mostly...those moments are of the cringy sort. It's not all bad, as I caught myself laughing quite a bit at some jokes, but nothing really stood out as "good".

The story is what you would expect from something with Melissa McCarthy in it, the casting likewise, but what surprised me was that we get a fair amount of character development for some of the characters. Rather unusual for these types of comedies.

Life of the Party is not a comedy I would recommend, but if you happen to catch it, it might give you at least some laughs.
