An interesting setting doesn't make an interesting story. Dull and unengaging.
I tried very very hard not to sleep during this movie. Not recommended.
Another "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" story meets Yellow Peril xenophobia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yellow_Peril#The_seducer).
It echoes 2019's Earthquake Bird.
Not as trashy as I expected but its still not a great film. The Japanese backdrop was interesting and the plot had promise but on the whole, the movie lacked insight.
This is a solid movie. I don’t know what the others watched. And very easy to understand actually. There don’t have to be an introduction or explanation for everything.
This was extremely boring and dull.
Alexandra Daddario’s character is annoying and frustrated me so much. There didn’t seem to be an answer for why she acts the way she does.

I don’t understand why she was doing what she was doing.
She was depressed, felt disconnected?
Whatever the reason she has random potentially dangerous sexual encounters to get over it, feel something?
Weird movie and not in a good way...
