Wow! Not often you see 100% on the critic score. At first I was kind of bugged by the jump in timeline that occurs just a few minutes into the film, especially when it became evident they weren't going back but in the end it didn't matter. My sense is that the missing year was exactly what every other movie that broaches this topic is all about. This film is about what happens in the moments after you come up to take that first breath of air. Unimaginable for sure. Well portrayed here. Frightening to even consider.
The film has real moments of power, though it is uneven at times. Worth a watch, but if you like your films to be neatly tied up with a bow at the end, you may feel unsatisfied by the conclusion.
