I was dancing around a 3 star (a high 3 admittedly) but the film is consistently good from start to finish, and the ending is such a triumph. This feels like the great comedies from the 50s and 60, where they had Oscar potential and well written. Peter O'Toole is amazing! I'm still catching up on some of the classic comedies but this surely has to be one of the better performances of all-time. He dominates the screen in ooze and charm from start to finish. It really is his film.
