It's cool to see Scorsese do something different like this but it is too long and too slow. There are some fun dance numbers.

This film is one of those films that were a critical and comercial failure but that time has proven to be a major work.

Any great director can have a slip up or two. This is that. It's a shame too, cause it really should have been a bit better. Scorsese's 1941.
