It fulfills what it promises, an entertaining adventure based on the NiNoKuni universe. The design of scenarios is beautiful, not so much that of the characters that seems a bit repetitive. The 3D animations are FEISMY as always, and 2D is not to shoot rockets.
A plot-twist quite predictable, a shame.
very generic fantasy story, highly predictable without surprises.
The movie story kept truly in line with the save a princess, kill a dragon fantasy. It was definitely more aimed towards children (at least it should be given the level of depth it provided) so keep that in mind. It was a nice lighthearted fantasy with a neat twist at the very end. It doesn't hold up particularly well to the stronger anime movies, but if I imagine this movie was produced in the early 2000s, I could see it as a movie that many children might watch.
There's a lot more pole dancing in the Ni No Kuni movie than I expected
The setup is an all time dumb thing: The two protags mutual friend gets stabbed, and one of the protags is in a wheel chair due to being crippled.
Friend who isn't disabled is just incredibly pissed that wheelchair protag doesn't just carry the stabbed friend to the hospital. The only person who wants to actually call an Ambulance is the wheelchair protag instead of the other protag AND THE LADY WHO IS BLEEDING OUT, and the argument about this leads to them entering Ni No Kuni world.
The Ni No Kuni world is full of creatures horny for 17 year olds & exclusively 17 year olds, which is an odd thing to make part of the lore. The film itself is both nonsensical while also feeling generic. The animation looks nice enough I guess but there are countless other films that look better than it that also manage to have interesting plots that make sense.
Just play Ni No Kuni & it's not good combat or watch a different Ghibli film, cause this movie is nowhere close to as charming or competently made as either.
Enjoyable, suffers from some pacing issues but they are cramming what should be a build up of relationships over maybe 2-3 episodes into 100 mins. The villain is a little predictable in their placement even though their back story is decent. even has a satisfying plot twist at the end
Animation is in part with what I expected, not groundbreaking but a good standard. Overall it kept us interested and had various tie-ins to the franchise, recommended for fans of the games.
I actually really enjoyed it, it was pure fun. I am a huge fan of the games and this movie has many references to both games. It was very wholesome and overall an enjoyable experience. The only thing that I can say I didn't like was the fact that the final villain was very obvious. Also, OOLLLIVVERRRR!

Disappointing movie. A lot of the story felt predictable (plot twists were really obvious), weak & repetitive. Given that this was a movie the animation was a let down (more like TV quality animation), the blending of 2D & 3D animation was rather poor and took me away from the story since it didn't blend well enough.
