I think the biggest problem with No Reason is that it is trying to be more impressive than the filmmaker can accomplish. Yes, there is a twist ending. No, it doesn't matter. If you want a twist to hold any weight the audience has to be invested in the characters. That never happens here, we are just dropped into a story. If one can't handle creating the necessary depth, just forgo the twist and give us the story as is. I only watched this because it's supposed to be "super disturbing," but it's really not. It's like a bad Hellraiser movie - and while I know that describes most of them anymore, I mean really bad. Aside from our lead being totally nude the entire movie, and some pissing, there is little going on here. Sure, there's gore, but with the bad editing, bad lighting, and bad camera work, this looks more like an edgy Mushroomhead video. I think the worst part is the filmmaker likely thinks he's really "saying something" with this movie.
