Great movie, has great character devolpment and makes you really feel for the charcaters. There were times i couldn't help but smile just because you feel there togetherness and how they were all like a family. Really emotional movie, and extremely underated wish more people would see this movie and Miles Teller is amazing in this movie.

It’s a great movie. I’ve had this in my library for a long time and just came around to watching it now. I should have watched it as soon as I got it. It’s not just a story of heroism but also of a brotherhood. Great story-telling!

  • No painful images, just the pain of loss.
  • Tried to hold it until Jeff Bridges starts weeping.

  • Probably best of Miles Teller after Whiplash.

  • Wait! where is Mark Wahlberg! (He's the man)

I was able to keep myself from crying up until Jeff Bridges started weeping :sob:

A good film overall and a worthy tribute to the lives of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. Those expecting more action may be disappointed - this is more soap opera and family drama than firefighting thrills - but for those with patience, this is a heartbreaking tale.

I cannot be objective with this movie. I survived the great wildfire in Athens Greece 23/7/18 the second deadliest fire in the 21 century with 104+ dead people. I went through the flames, saw burning buildings, and i had to see this movie. I do not care about people saying cheap drama and all that crap, if you haven't leave it or know the heroes that these guys are. It just had me in full fetal position on the end with tears, what a fantastic movie about the unseen heroes about the sacrifises that they made all of them every year to protect you and your house.

Ultimate respect.

"It's not easy sharing your man with a fire."

When this first came out I thought it was going to be a cheesy movie, but many people told me to watch it. My brother became a firefighter since then and I decided to check this out and wow, I was not ready for it.

Pensaba que sería la típica peli en el que hay un gran incendio y poco más, por suerte no es así y me ha gustado más de lo que creía. Me ha gustado conocer la historia de estos bomberos, a pesar de que he encontrado más drama que acción.

I've never heard of this movie before I've seen it and I was lucky to see it in a sneak preview. This is an incredibly touching movie, that at first glance might look like your typical Michael Bay catastrophic movie, that makes use of all cliches.

Still this movie is different, instead of telling you beforehand who's good and who's bad and having only little time for the buildup but then dwell on the catastrophic event with as much action as possible, this movie actually spends a lot of time on it's main cast, and it does so only to then totally punch you in the guts. There is hardly any action, and in no way is this movie overdone. But what you get to see get's you more than any action movie could.

Wow, this was intense and unexpected (bear in mind that I am from Germany and never heard of the story this is based on).

At the end, I was totally touched. A really great testimonial that honors a couple of selfless heroes in their sacrifice. A must see!

Absolutely heartbreaking movie. I didn't even know the story about the Yarnell Hill fire, and this probably made the movie even more surprising to me. The spirit of camraderie and brotherhood made the finale even more emotional. A special mention to the cast that was absolutely great.

Una pelicula que narra con fuerza y respeto una historia tan tragica.

Ho. Lee. Shit. I did not know the real story before seeing this. I had no idea that it wouldn't have a cliche Hollywood ending where maybe 1 or 2 guys died and the rest carried the bodies out or something.

SUPER emotional movie. Teller did a fantastic job with the role. I love the bond that Teller and Kitsch's characters formed.

WATCH THIS MOVIE!

This is a standout film of an emotional and compelling story. We see the Granite Mountain Hotshots and the very real personal journey of the each of them. There is some fantastic character development and the whole piece falls together nicely. It's based on a true story, a fact which makes the entire movie that ever more incredible.

Tragic, heart-breaking portrayal about a group of heroes. What a cast and they all commit, bringing to life a story that's worth telling. It's a pretty moving affair.

Heartbreaking. Did not expect much. Was pleasantly surprised. Acting is good. Production value is good. Script and dialogue are good in some scenes outstanding. (Car fight between Marsh and Amanda) Movie deserves a lot more attention than it gets. Solid 7 out of 10.

A great homage to the heroes.Very touching and emotional. The boys got a really good chemistry.

A movie about firefighters, yes you know some will die... Slow in beginning and in the middle and towards the the end. Throughout a great story evolves. Nice tear jerker, as might be expected. No painful images. Just the pain of loss.

Very emotional and being based on a true story only makes it more impactful. Great performances all around but Josh Brolin really stands out. There are a lot of beautiful aerial shot of landscapes. It's scary to see these landscapes when they are on fire and how fast and destructive these fires can be.
