From the movies I've watched, I can't say "Passenger 57" was the one establishing standards for the genre, but movies with a similar plot like "Non-Stop" with Liam Neeson or even "Red Eye" with Rachel McAdams and my favourite (on-screen) psychopath Cillian Murphy, are much better developed than this one. Is it bad? Absolutely! But while it might have been great in 1992, it's not very exciting for a nowadays' audience.
Way better than its rating would suggest IMO. I recommend this film.
"Well, let me give you a word of advice. Always bet on black!"
I am not saying that this is even close to being Die Hard, but it does have similar elements. If you are looking for a fun 90's action film with some fun Snipes action, look no further.
Predictable, but very fun action flick for a saturday evening. Score: 6/10.

A charmingly stupid movie which is endearingly 1990's. The degree to which everyone in the film including Tom Sizemore is falling over themselves to praise Wesley Snipes makes you feel like you're watching a blaxploitation Steven Seagal movie.
