I remember seeing clips of Pete's Dragon in the Disney Channel commercials back in the day. I was always curious for its live-action/animation mix, but never saw it in full until now. I didn't realize it was a musical. It reminds me of the live-action Popeye movie a bit, the way the set was designed.
