Drew Barrymore stars in the erotic thriller Poison Ivy. The story follows a high school vixen named Ivy who befriends a social outcast named Sylvie; but the friendship turns dark and disturbed as Ivy inserts herself into Sylvie’s family. Barrymore gives a strong performance that embodies the seductive and sinister nature of the character. And, she has good chemistry with co-star Sara Gilbert; the two having a compelling relationship that enhances an otherwise mediocre script. Despite some of its more provocative parts, Poison Ivy is a tragic tale about the need to belong.
Solid little erotic thriller, that seemed to have a spawned a whole wave of them in the 90s. It's basically a cheap Lolita knockoff, but Barrymore is impressive in the role, as is Tom Skerritt.
I watched this for Leo and only for Leo and during the end credits I was so confused as to where he was so I searched it on YouTube to find he was an extra with 2-3 seconds of screenplay. I felt robbed.
The movie in general was better than I expected, the story-line isn't the most creative but it was an easy to watch teen film with the exception it's now nearly 25 years old.

I watched this for Leonardo DiCaprio and well, with that "small role" I really should've just looked it up on YouTube lol. That's not a small role, it is a cameo if anything smh.
As for the actual movie, I guess it is alright at most, not something I am forever grateful I spend my money on, though.
