The interior of the largest prison in Brazil is a microcosm of a society unable to fight with crime. It contrasts a first part in which the prisoners seem to want to give a more or less peaceful image, with a second part in which they delve into the reality of violence, drugs, prostitution or abuse of power. The images taken by the prisoners themselves are the most intimate, the most stark. Officials speak of jail as a place that is not "to rehabilitate, it is to keep criminals away from society." This explains many things.
