Revering Roe is a pro-abortion documentary that looks at the legal struggles that have been fought since abortion first became legal in the United States. Beginning in the 1950s & ’60, the film looks at how abortions were conducted under the guise of therapy, leading to a series of legal battles that resulted in the Supreme Court case Roe vs. Wade that legalize abortions, and how that sparked the Pro-Life Movement and its efforts to shutdown abortion clinics and pass legislation that restricted abortion or overturned Roe vs. Wade. Most of the interviews are with pro-abortion advocates, thought there are a few interviews with pro-life leaders to offer some balance. Yet while the sins of the Pro-Life Movement are covered, clinic bombings etc., no mention is made of the scandals abortion groups have been caught in. Still, the film does a good job at chronicling how abortion got so politicalized and the inroads that have been made in weakening Roe vs. Wade. An interesting and provocative documentary, Reversing Roes has its problems but overall is a fascinating look at the history of this controversial issue.
