We want the old turtles
It's not good, we love the classic style more.
The style takes a lot of getting used to for Turtles fans of the first hour. It's not my case, I guess more for the "excited" youth of today... :speak_no_evil:
I haven't watched the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, but I have seen the series "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (2012-2017), which I think is great. As for the film, I thought it was good, with beautiful animation, although a little silly at times. I liked the epic moments of action with the magical souls, which I thought was interesting to include. However, the advanced technology seemed a bit overkill to me. The Krang's new look seemed a little unnecessary to me, but their armor looked cool.
I love American animes. Fr, tho
Since Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was so awesome and under-rated. I never bothered giving this show a change.
Especially since I wasn’t a fan of the animation. I am just seeing the movie now. To see how it ranks next to the other movies.
As a fan of the Ninja Turtles it is entertaining. Leonardo being immature and hyperactive is out of character though. Ben Schwartz (Sonic the Hedgehog) doesn’t fit him.
It's... bizarre, but in a good and very humorous way. And even though I felt that I missed a big something by not watching the 2018's show, given it's SO much different than the TMNT I used to know, it's still quite entertaining.
However, it seems Netflix/Nickelodeon have forgotten the tragedy that excessively blinky and flashy visual effects brought decades ago with Pokémon, because several scenes, especially during the heated battles, can be very harmful to more photosensitive audiences.
Still, it was amazing seeing Raphael with a Susano'o-like techno-armor; Leo with a swordsman version of Portal's weapon; Mikey as a badass disciple of Dr. Strange; and Donnie on the frontlines with awesome holo-armaments.
Why do the characters designs look worse with each new series.. They look like they came out of a Childs nightmare. In 2D. They lazy or what.. How can anyone enjoy watching such design.. ugh.. 90's were much better.

Please do not be discouraged by the one commenter--for some reason a lot of old TMNT fans have it out against Rise despite Rise being absolutely gorgeous in animation, extremely fun to watch, having great action scenes, a wonderful family dynamic, and a great story direction!
