92 minutes of pure fun.
"Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion" is a must see for any comedy fans out there, but I think it can appeal to a wide audience of people since it is such a fun movie.
This was a highly entertaining watch, and I genuinely had fun watching it from the minute it started. This movie had so much to love in it and it had a very unique and well thought out feel to it. It did a lot and it did everything very, very well.
There are lots of laughs in this movie, and the humor is very well done and enjoyable. Along with this, the overall feel and aesthetic of this movie is very pleasing as well. It has that classic, girly, 90s feel to it that is just so much fun to watch. This is exactly how a chick flick should be done.
The outfits are all wonderful and I love the costumes used in the film. All throughout Romy and Michele wear very interesting and cute outfits that are so much fun to see.
One of the things I love about this movie (even though there are so many things) is the soundtrack, there is so much good music all throughout, and I love a movie with a good, fun soundtrack, this has this. From the flashback 80s scenes to the club scenes, there is a fun, great song choice added. Even just the opening song picked was an incredible choice.
Highly enjoyable, fun, and bubbly film with perfect execution of a story with humor blended in and great stylistic elements. If I were to scale this out of 100, I would probably give it a 98 or so. My kind of fun film.
3 Thoughts After Re-Watching ‘Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion’:
Is it a perfect film? No. But it’s absolutely iconic. And sometimes that’s more than enough.
Lisa Kudrow is most definitely the “Mary.” While it’s no competition, and the two leads play off each other with ridiculous perfection, she is just such a genius with her comedic timing. Michele Weinberger is everything.
There’s a ton of joy in watching a film that’s pure 90s while simultaneously celebrating the 80s. This is an awesome time capsule — and one that’s always worth revisiting.
idk. it's too shallow. It wasn't even funny. I probably just got one good chuckle, but it's boring and has a relatively predictable ending.

I'm not really sure what the appeal of this movie is to gather a cult following. I mean, it isn't horrible, but it isn't super funny either. It's really just alright. Romy and Michele are fun characters, but their ditzy routine gets old fast and the plot is too simple and too straightforward. Janeane Garofalo was about the only thing I actually liked, but even her character is too much of a stereotype.
Considering this came out during the FRIENDS era, I think a lot of the following here comes from the fans of the show who became fans of Kudrow. So basically, unless you're a fan of either Sorvino or Kudrow, give this a pass. There are better flicks out there to waste time on.
