Great movie nice message different directing and ofcourse..Amazing perfomance from Cotillard!! She is amazing!

The acting here is phenomenal, so real.
This movie was hard because I have no patience for people who are wilfully irresponsible so Schoenaerts' character's eventual redemption was just fundamentally unearned. There's no denying the performances aren't powerful, especially Cotillard's, and I understand it is their respective traumas that bind the two together in the end but I feel like it makes Cotillard's otherwise intelligent and capable character seem almost pathetic for taking him back. Nevertheless a strong film.
Rust and Bone, from the director of A Prophet. Now, before you search up anything about this movie, you should understand that the reason why I'm not saying much about it, is because I think it's better to go into this movie without knowing much. Certain plot elements are more effective when you don't see them coming, so I'm not gonna spoil that for you. Not only is this movie very well shot, but Marion Cotillard pulls off a phenomenal performance. Somehow, she's able to communicate so much with something as simple as a look in her eye, and even though she outshines everyone else, the other actors in the film are also very talented. The child actor was surprisingly good as well as Matthias Schoenaerts. The cinematography was good with some shots that really blew me away. Alot of the scenes have alot emotional gravity to them and the actors and directors did very well with the material they were given and were able to emote superbly. Like I said, I don't want to spoil anything, so just trust me when I say that its a good movie and I highly recommend you take time out of your day to see this movie. .
Love this film.. Its suppose to be flawed like the characters themselves.. Not as pretentious as the reviewer below me... Blegh..
I thought the basic plot was interesting. But, I expected more coz of the fantastic trailer and the buzz it created in festivals. A flawed, but worth a watch just for Marion Cotillard's brilliant performance.
If the movie is as half as good as the UK/international trailer - this should be great.
